With Valentine’s Day coming up in just a couple of weeks, you may be looking for a way to tell that special someone how you feel. There are lots of verses in the Bible to help you express your love, but today I am going to focus on the best Psalms and Proverbs about love.
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”
With this Psalm David is saying he knows God has words of love for him and that he has put all his trust in God. While God should always be first in our lives, this is also a verse we can use to show that we trust in the one we love. For they have praised us with their love and we should trust that they will lead us on a path with the Lord.
“Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.”
This verse was written while David was in the wilderness and while he wandered he found a joyfulness in praising God. We should also find joy in praising the one we love here on earth and we should not be afraid to proclaim it to everyone.
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”
A woman who walks with God is to be cherished above all else. She is a wonder and we should be lucky to have such a woman in our lives.
“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.”
God has love and faith in you and you should have love and faith in God. This also translates to your relationship with your loved one. Love and faith should always be mutual and if it is it will always be rewarded.
“A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.”
The love of a wife is a gift from God worth more than any jewels on earth. If a husband trusts in her than he will lack nothing and they will only have goodness for all of their days.
“Many claim to have unfailing love, but a faithful person who can find? The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them.”
Always be faithful to God and always be faithful to your spouse. If you lead a virtuous life then your children, whether you have them now or plan on having them in the future, will be blessed and grow up in a loving home.
Next week I will cast a wider net and look to both the Old and New Testament verses for verses on love and relationships. In the meantime, if you are looking to search for more verses to inspire you, check out our 6 Best Audio Bible Sites to Connect with God.
