She is the Founder and Director for Family Challenge Camps, a non-profit organization founded in 2011 providing an experiential transformative intensive for families with children with trauma and attachment issues. She now has founded Trauma Healing Accelerated to bring information and personal empowerment through online courses. She hosts summits on how to optimize the biology in those who want the next level to their health and performance. She has an active medical practice in California in Addiction Medicine and Concierge Functional Medicine.
In addition to her medical training, she is also a Functional Medicine physician and has training and certifications specifically in neuro-autoimmunity, nutrition and genetics for addictions, mental health, and mood and behavioral disorders.
Aimie has a number of certifications in various trauma therapies including Instinctual Trauma Response Model (an art trauma therapy), Somatic Experiencing (developed by Dr. Peter Levine), and NeuroAffective Touch (Dr. Aline LaPierre). Dr. Aimie enjoys bridging the gap between what she sees happening in these trauma therapies and a person’s biology and nervous system.

In this episode, Liz talks about the evolution of her thinking. We all are in different phases of our life and our circumstances and environments can often change how we view things. In the past, Liz believed that she just had to work harder to reach her goals. Now she realizes that sometimes doing less gives her more. Episode #22: Learn How To Grow and Love More Deeply After Your Loss With Grief Therapist Karen Moon I will never forget sitting next to my mother&apos;s bedside as she was taking her last breaths.  It was an out-of-body, shocking, and life-altering experience.  I felt honored to hold space for my mom with deep love and respect as she passed on.  At the time of her death, I was quite dazed and confused about a lot of things, but one thing I knew for sure was that the death of my mother would change me forever.  One of the bigger transformations that occurred for me after my mom died was that I knew I could not walk this path of grief alone. I needed my therapist, family, and friends to help me heal this gaping hole.  And boy oh boy, do I wish that I had known our guest today on the Cracking Open podcast.  Karen K. Moon, LCSW is a psychotherapist who specializes in grief and loss, and has over thirty years of experience working with individuals, families, and organizations. She counseled employees affected by the Oklahoma City bombing and the Columbine shootings and provided numerous bereavement groups for employees and families affected by 9/11.  These days she is based in Wayne, PA where she has a private practice. Karen served on the Board of Directors at Peter’s Place, Center for Grieving Children and Families for 14 years and is a co-founder and facilitator of a weekly adolescent girls therapy group (Safe Space for Girls). 42: Kevin Hauber on How He Responded to Intense Chronic Pain Kevin Hauber's chronic pain began over two decades ago after a botched vasectomy operation. In the following years, he experienced extreme, nearly debilitating pain that changed his life. His healing journey included multiple reconstructive operations, over 200 medications, and also many alternative methods. This journey eventually led him to the yoga and somatic techniques that he teaches and practices himself. It also led him to write a book about his experience and vasectomies in general. In our conversation, he tells the story of his operation and recovery. He also shares his general approach to health that is rooted in listening to what the body really needs.

Validation To achieve your highest potential, never resort to external validation over internal validation.  Your purpose is to love yourself, appreciate yourself, give yourself a nod and validate your purpose and path moving forward.  External validation is surface level giving you instant gratification but doesn&apos;t provide any deep fulfillment, thus creating a need for more external validation.  NO, you are better than that!  Step into your own light and walk your path for YOU.

I thought you might enjoy this quick episode because I just found some mums recently that have been chewed on and I realized I need to do this again!  
I do have a fenced in vegetable garden, but I have several other areas on our property that have flower beds, pots, and the riverbank that has alot of flowers and this works wonders to keep the rabbits, deer and most animals away from.  I learned this tip from a neighbor who I thought was a gardening goddess.  She has gardened for many many years and had alot of great tips!
In the Spring when my plants just pop through the ground, I will sprinkle a very small amount of blood meal on them-like a tablespoon or so on each plant  and it keeps anything that likes to chew on my plants away.  I like to do this mid summer too just in case the rain washes it all away which must be what happened to the few flowers that got munched on this week most likely by the deer. So glad it was only a few because I love those purple colors in the Fall.  The best part about this is that it is a natural fertilizer as well and good for your plants, so I would encourage you to try this if you are having problems with rabbits and deer nibbling at your plants or flowers and do it right away in the spring!

Toxic Main Character Energy Have you ever wondered what the boundary between self-love and selfishness is? If so, this episode is for you. I'll be talking about how to be the shining star of your very own life without making everyone else in your life your supporting cast. Main character energy is a trend that originated on Tiktok. It's where you see your life as a movie, and you're the main character in that movie. It began as a display of self-love, self-recognition, and self-respect. It's all about focusing on you, your dreams, putting yourself first, and how to create the life you love.  Dangerous women are all about creating a life you love, and I love the idea of the main character energy. Just watch out for the downside. If we assume we are the main character, we could cast others as the background characters or the supporting cast. A true dangerous woman takes care of herself while being present for others.  Episode Highlights:  [02:27] I 100% believe that self-love isn't selfish. There's no way you can be the amazing woman that you are without taking care of yourself. [02:47] There's a fine line between self-love and selfishness. Dangerous women operate in the space of loving ourselves fully while at the same time being present for others. We don't put ourselves last. We decide how we will show up for others and what type of partner we will be. [03:29] How do you put yourself first without being selfish? [03:54] 1. Digital/analog planning with Rocketbook Problem: You need a planner, but they’ve never worked for you in the past and you don’t know what kind of planners are good for your brainSolution: It’s a myth that certain types of planners only work for neurotypicals and other types work well for all ND people (or even all people with your exact diagnosis.) You need a planner style that addresses your individual struggles and fits your current needs, which may change over time. Some people with Executive Dysfunction have a hard time with lots of extra bits to do every day, so if this is you, you might want to get a more free-form planner instead of one with lots of trackers and prompts built into the pages, making your planner feel like homework (which you then avoid.) Other people with ExD really love the hand-holding and being told exactly what is supposed to go in which spot, which means a planner with lots of extra blanks and prompts and questions will work great for you! If you’re not sure which type you are, don’t fret if you choose the wrong type at first! Leaving prompts unanswered is not a problem - cover it up with a sticker if you want. If you need prompts you don’t have, look up some templates so you can write in your own for things like schedule, gratitude, or trackers.Developing your own planner style isn’t something that is figured out ahead of time so you can stick with it forever. You guess, practice, iterate, practice again, evolve, and just keep going.Questions to ask first: 1. What size do you want? - bigger (A5 or up) gives more space, but more space can feel overwhelming - smaller is easier to carry anywhere - crucial when you’re still learning not to forget your planner - small spaces serve as a practical limit to how much you can demand of yourself each day 2. Digital or analog (Or both)? - digital is always with you, but it can be harder to navigate or find things once you’ve forgotten them. There’s also no natural limits to what you keep - analog is harder (still not impossible) to ignore because it exists physically. Bookmarks and tabs make it easy to find your spot, and you can flip through pages to remind yourself of things you didn’t even remember writing down. - each has benefits, but many of the perceived strengths of digital are actually weaknesses. If you've been trying digital and just can't figure out why it won't work, give analog a shot even if you really don't think it's right for you 3. Dated or undated? - dated and laid out pages can be a huge convenience, or a huge guilt trip - undated means you have to write in the date, but there’s no missed pages if you skip some days here or there 4. Would you benefit from a structured, hourly layout for each day? - I love an hourly layout as a way to work with time agnosia, because it provides a _visual_ representation of how much time you have until that afternoon appointment, or for how long an hour is - it can also be overwhelming for some people and may tend toward empty space 5. Do you want a lot of prompts, trackers, and special lists to fill in each day, or something more free-form? - free-form planners like the ones I personally use and recommend allow you to use each page however you want, including adding in any of your own prompts or trackers, but that means all decisions are on you - heavily structured planners often provide prompts for journaling, gratitude, meal planning, etc... which can

Everyone puts their hope and trust in something - and what we put our hope and trust becomes our foundation for life. Some people build their lives on the foundation of money, believing that if they have more money, life will be better and more secure.Some people build their lives on possessions, trusting that more stuff means more happiness. Lots of people build their lives on popularity , thinking that if they can get more friends, they will never be on their own and life will be great.These a just a few examples.
