"Although it doesn't focus on Star Wars exclusively, discussion about the Star Wars universe still makes up a large portion of the content in this podcast. Despite dipping their toes into the MCU, DC, etc. the Star Wars content in no way takes a backseat and is just as in-depth and detailed as any Star Wars exclusive content out there...This is a great podcast for those who are interested in Star Wars but still like to have a break to talk about their other favorite movie franchises as well."
- Matthew Flores,

Tatooine Sons is a positive, family-friendly podcast hosted by David Jesse and his two teenage sons, Sam (20) and Nathan (16). We believe that pop-culture is the mythology of this generation. There is a story written on our souls. These myths speak to that story.

Star Wars | MCU | DC | Comicbooks | LOTR | Cobra Kai

Tatooine Sons was launched in December 2017 at "Tatooine Sons: A Star Wars Podcast." In December of 2018, Nathan (one of the hosts who at the time was 12 years old) asked Rian Johnson, the writer/director of "The Last Jedi": "What is the name of the porg on the Millennium Falcon?"

Rian Johnson responded: "What do YOU think his name is?" When Nathan answered, "Maybe Terbus?" no one really believed the character would become official. But after a year and a half #MakeTerbusCanon campaign on social media, the character was officially named in the all-ages comic book series "Star Wars Adventures," issues 27-29. (

Tatooine Sons is hosted by David (the dad) Samuel (20 years old) and Nathan (16 years old). We love how pop-culture helps us see that there is something bigger in the world. We discuss Star Wars, the MCU, DC, comicbooks, the Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Cobra Kai and pretty much anything else pop-culture related through the lens of modern mythology and the "greater story" we believe this mythology points toward.

Episode 137 with Scotty McCreery McCreery chats about his latest music and expanding his family
Last fall, Scotty McCreery released his fifth studio album Same Truck via Triple Tigers. The album includes his latest single, "Damn Strait," which has become the fastest rising single of his career. The track follows the country singer's fourth consecutive No. 1 single “You Time,” also from the album.

Earlier this week, McCreery and his wife Gabi shared publicly that they're expecting their first child, a boy, in November. McCreery can also be seen on the road through December with some of his own headlining appearances and as an opener on Brooks & Dunn's Reboot 2022 Tour.

We had a chance to chat with McCreery right after news broke of the couple's pregnancy. We discuss how he feels about being an expectant father, his music and the tour.

#59 - "Back to the Future" Trilogy Panel Part Two Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads. Its time to pick up where things left off as Tim Williams is joined by the "Hill Valley Save the Clock Tower Committee" (aka the Co-Host Panel) as they continue their discussion on the "Back to the Future" Trilogy for this episode of the 80’s Flick Flashback!
Panel Includes Charlie Cotter, Chad Sheppard, and Laramy & Bethany Wells ("Moving Panels" Podcast)
Pre-Recorded Segments from previous co-hosts include Ron West, Jeff Atkins, and Gerry D. ("Totally Rad Christmas" Podcast)

Here are some additional behind the scenes trivia we were unable to cover in this episode:

The first film had had slightly more subtle placement deals with various companies including Toyota, Pepsi and Miller, but in the second, these deals started to take an active place in the story. Pepsi (with the fictional ‘Pepsi Perfect’ variety) is even more prominent in the Café 80s, and there are Black and Decker products both real (the “antique” Dustbuster) and fictional (the food hydrating machine). Pizza Hut, meanwhile, was eager not just to show its logo on the pizza that gets hydrated, but actually provided a ‘professional food stylist’ to the production, to ensure that said pizza looked as appetizing as possible onscreen.
A running gag throughout the entire trilogy: every time Marty goes into the diner location for the first time (that’s Lou’s in 1955, Cafe ’80s in 2015 and the saloon in 1885), he orders a beverage that he never actually gets to drink any of before being interrupted by a “Hey, McFly!”
In Part III Marty notices the name of ‘Frisbie’, an actual pie company, and presumably thinks it’s just a coincidence that the name on the flat tray is similar to ‘Frisbee’, the flying disc. Of course, the two are actually linked – the pie company gave the colloquial name to the disc-throwing game, before the Wham-O company trademarked the slightly altered ‘Frisbee’ in the 1950s.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword – Arthur Begins King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is a dramatic reimagining of the Arthurian legend. It is also evokes much of its director's hallmark traits. This is Guy Ritchie's take on King Arthur, for better and for worse.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword was a gamble. Budgeted at $175 million and with five sequels planned, WB had franchise desires in mind for it. With that much at stake, it's odd they would butcher the edit of the film.
Legend of the Sword, for all its insane visuals and Ritchie flair, is a narrative mess. It zooms from plot point to plot point, replacing essential connective tissue with bizarrely narrated montages. It feels like the movie is playing in 1.5x speed.
Couple that with a bland lead (Charlie Hunnam as the titular king) and villain (Jude Law's Vortigern), who's essentially evil because the film requires it, and there's not much to get behind.
Hence why it flopped as hard as a movie can and was lambasted by critics. Legend of the Sword didn't even recoup its production budget, grossing just $148.7 million worldwide; and it sits at 31% on Rotten Tomatoes with 278 reviews.
Yet, there is still some things to be appreciated. When King Arthur goes full King Arthur, the effects are rather spectacular. That alone is worth the price of admission.
Now, sit back, bow to the king of beers—Budweiser—and warg into a giant snake! I, the Thunderous Wizard (@WriterTLK) and Chumpzilla are debating the merits of sacrificing someone to the tentacle lady.
This Week’s Segments:
Introduction/Plot Breakdown – Raised on the streets. Born to be king! (00:00)
Lingering Questions – After a word from our brothers in beer at Hop Nation USA, we discuss why this movie failed. (29:05)

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Episode 6 Review Reva arrives on Tatooine to locate Luke, while Vader pursues Kenobi and the Path in his Star Destroyer. Kenobi separates from the group so that the Path can escape after realizing Vader is only after him. He goes to a nearby planet to confront Vader alone. After an intense lightsaber and Force duel, Kenobi is able to incapacitate him by damaging Vader's helmet and breathing device. Realizing that Anakin has embraced his identity as Vader, and that his former friend is truly dead, Kenobi leaves. Meanwhile, Reva arrives at Luke's home and confronts Owen and Beru. After subduing them, she pursues Luke into the desert but eventually returns him to his family after remembering Anakin's massacre of the Jedi Temple. Liberated from the Dark Side, Kenobi congratulates her for overcoming her trauma from the past. On Mustafar, a healed Vader abandons his search for Kenobi after his master, Emperor Palpatine, questions his motives and loyalty. Back on Alderaan, Leia has found new resolve in her duties as a princess. Kenobi visits them and affirms he will help the Organas when needed, and bids Leia farewell. Returning to Tatooine, he resolves his conflict with Owen by agreeing to let Luke have a regular childhood. Owen allows Ben to meet Luke, and he greets the boy with his familiar "Hello there", before venturing into the desert. Having found his inner peace, he is finally able to see and converse with the Force Ghost of his old Master, Qui-Gon Jinn.Email us: hosts@whatsourverdict.comFollow us:Facebook: @whatsourverdictInstagram: @whatsourverdictYouTube:

Ep. 60 - 2003 Nicole Kidman The year is 2003 and the nominees are:1. Salma Hayek - Frida 2. Nicole Kidman - The Hours 3. Renée Zellweger - Chicago 4. Julianne Moore - Far from Heaven 5. Diane Lane - Unfaithful -In 2003 Nicole Kidman won her Oscar “…by a nose” for playing Virginia Woolf in The Hours. With only 28 minutes of screen time Kidman had the least amount of time in front of the camera compared to her costars (Streep had 42 min and Moore had 33 min) but Miramax wanted to put her forward as lead as to not compete with Moore in a supporting category. Frankly I’m not mad at this but it probably effected Salma Hayek’s chances to win as Miramax now had two of their actresses competing for a lead Oscar. Hayek gave a career best in Frida portraying iconic artist, Frida Kahlo. Renée Zellweger gave a triple threat performance in Chicago playing Roxie Hart in a world where corruption and deceit is rewarded. Julianne Moore was double nominated in 2003 for The Hours and Far from Heaven. Far from Heaven tells the story of Cathy a perfect 1950’s housewife whose life and belief system comes crashing down after her husband (Dennis Quaid) comes to terms with the fact that he’s gay. Definitely one of Moore’s best! And finally we have Diane Lane in the steamiest performance of her career in Unfaithful. Let it be known I saw this movie for the first time when it came out with my grandmother (LOL). Unfaithful is a very divisive topic among movie fans - they either love it, or hate it. I LOVE it - FIGHT ME! Join host Kyle Brownrigg with guest host Cathryn Naiker as they discuss.

Head Writer and Developed by - Eric Kripke

Based on the comic series from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson

Executive Producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

Episode written by: Jessica Chou

Episode directed by: Nelson Cragg

Spoiler filled Synopsis:

With Crimson Countess checked off his list, Soldier Boy moves on to his next targets The TNT Twins - Tommy and Tessa. The only thing standing in his way is "Herogasm". The annual depraved supe sex party…where any hole is a goal and no supe power is off limits.

Meanwhile, having learnt of the return of Soldier Boy and his involvement in the murder of Crimson Countess, Homelander and Vought try desperately to keep the truth hidden as they move against Soldier Boy.

Elsewhere Nina puts Frenchie through the ringer as he tries to make him choose whether to kill Kimiko or Cherie. But even without her powers Kimiko saves them all.As Soldier Boy and a suped up Billy and Hughie scope out the party, Homelander has sent The Deep to wait for them and warn TNT; while A-Train has also arrived looking for the racist Blue Hawk, after his pleas to Ashley for justice were rebuked.

Greeted at the door by Love Sausage, Starlight and Mothers Milk, soon to be covered in Mans Milk, also arrive to try to stop Soldier Boy's revenge attack on TNT and the inevitable collateral damage that will follow. Soldier Boy takes out TNT, learning that Black Noir and by extension Vought were behind the plan to take him out. In the devastating aftermath A-Train takes his own swift revenge, and Homelander arrives.

Homelander faces down Soldier Boy, Billy Butcher and Hughie and almost loses the fight. Pinned down by Butcher and Hughie, and with Soldier Boy powering up, Homelander manages to escape to safety albeit bruised and shaken. As Mothers Milk and Starlight help the injured victims, Starlight speaks to her social media following telling them the truth about Vought, Homelander, Queen Maeve and Soldier Boy as she quits the Seven.

This week on the SciFi TV Rewatch podcast we discuss the series premiere of the Prime Video Original series Outer Range starring Lily Taylor and Josh Brolin as the Abbott family comes to terms with the missing Rebecca and Royal’s discovery of a mysterious hole in his west pasture. While it seems clear that the hole may facilitate time travel, it’s equally possible that a multiverse could be at play.
In our What We're Watching segment, Wayne takes his son’s recommendation and checks out The Boys Presents: DIabolical. Dave continues to methodically work his way through season one of Manifest.

Listen, there are more absurd romances out there, but somehow this one manages to be both less believable and less compelling. But in a year of nominees this bad, could this be the Best Picture among a field of duds? Find out!

Constantine (2005) Review We watched Constantine on HBO Max and I realized that I had a bunch of unfounded ill-will toward this movie, which is pretty good.

@dgoebel00 on Instagram provided this amazing artwork. Follow him and check out his website.

Constantine is about John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), a DC character whose job is essentially to send demons back to hell. Or at least he made it his job when he realized that he was heading there.

He is approached by Angela (Rachel Weisz) and asked to help her prove that her twin sister didn’t commit suicide. As a devout Catholic, Angela realizes that if her sister did actually commit suicide she damned herself to hell.

With the help of his plucky sidekick, Chas (Shia LaBeouf) and some of his friends, John is on the case.

He finds himself in the middle of a war where the Devil’s son, Mammon, is trying to unleash himself into the world of the living.

Everyone gets more holy hand grenades than they bargained for.

Constantine is a pretty impressive movie in a couple different ways.

Firstly, it had a large budget and was able to spend a lot of it on CGI monsters and backdrops, which wouldn’t normally be a plus. But this CGI from 2005 actually holds up quite well.

It also has enough action and interesting characters to keep you involved in the movie from beginning to end. In fact, the Angel Gabriel (Tilda Swinton) and Satan (Peter Stormare) are some of the best depictions of well-known Bible characters that I’ve ever seen on screen.

Constantine doesn’t dwell on the origin story, while still acknowledging it, which is a breath of fresh air in today’s hyper-cookie-cutter style comic book movie world.

By the end of Constantine, if you are bought in on the story the payoff will be pretty impressive. It’s not without fault, however. This movie came out two years after The Matrix trilogy concluded, and it feels like a direct port of that series in a lot of ways. From the stylized world to the monotone color pallet to starring Keanu as the savior of mankind - it’s uh, kind of obvious.

Also, it was originally touted as a horror movie and I can see where it threw in scary imagery and concepts to try and please the horror crowd. Make no mistake, this is not what I would call a “hard-horror movie”. This is an action-thriller that dealt with some of the scarier elements of religion, and the studio figured they could get a bigger audience if they could draw the horror crowd. This was my issue with the movie when I originally watched it on the bigscreen.

Overall, it’s a pretty fun movie that I would watch again after a few years. It was a much better Catholic horror movie than The Nun, so there's that.
