Dream Sounds I want you to feel at peace. That is why I began this station: to offer a space for you to rebalance the relationship between your mind and body through beautiful and calming music.

I have composed each song on this station with the intention of offering you an aural respite from the noise of everyday life. Here, you will find long audio to help you sleep through the night, or shorter ones, if you only have a few minutes to relax. 🙂

I compose and play/sing all the music you will hear on this station. You will also find nature sounds we record exclusively for Dream Sounds.

Sometimes work, school, difficult times, etc. can be overwhelming, but I've always found that being surrounded by music has made all these circumstances more bearable for me. My hope is that my music can do the same for you.

Love,
Clarisse xo

The Power of Simple Goals High achievers LOVE goals.
But often, the goal we focus on is big. We want to quit our job and start a company, get in shape, go back to school to finish our degree… etc. But hyperfocusing on a big goal (that may take many many years to achieve) can get a little stale, even discouraging. Even the most disciplined of us can’t function long-term on willpower alone.
Have you ever tried to run up a big hill from a dead stop at the bottom? Yeah, it’s like that.
This month in The Mindset Coaching Collective, I gave my students an assignment. And today, I’m giving the same one to you. It’s super simple, something you can start today, and unbelievably powerful. Why? Because this assignment will give you something that every one of us can benefit from…
MOMENTUM!
It will remind you that you are type of person who does what they say they’re going to do. That you’re someone who is brave enough to make commitments and keep your commitments, and that you are powerful, disciplined, and more than capable of achieving your biggest goals.
If you love actionable episodes with clear takeaways and easy wins this one’s for you!

Visor Library – B – Beach Boys Episode two of my Visor Library project takes us back to the 60's with the classic Beach Boys album 'Pet Sounds.' When you're a teenager, old stuff isn't cool. You always want to have the newest and shiniest of things. Loving The Beach Boys didn't do me any favors when it came to popularity. But I've always loved 'Pet Sounds.' It's an album that spent a significant amount of time in my visor organizer. That's the album I'm talking about this week.I'd love to hear your thoughts on 'Pet Sounds' or the Beach Boys in general. Leann Blaskowsky the Dangers of Marijuana in Pregnancy and Newborns Leeann Blaskowsky is a board-certified neonatal nurse practitioner.  In her words:  since 2009 I have been living and working in Colorado, and I am faced, almost daily, with counseling families about marijuana use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. My nursing education began with an Associates degree waaay back in 1984, continuing to a Bachelors and Masters in Nursing more than twenty-five years later, finally finishing with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in 2020. With more than 40 years in healthcare beginning as a bedside nurse in the ICU/CCU, Emergency Department and Neonatal ICU settings, I have had the opportunity to interact with patients and families with varying opinions and practices regarding the use of marijuana. These interactions have expanded in scope and increased in number as medical marijuana and legalized recreational use arrived in Colorado. I have also cared for many patients struggling with addiction to various substances including mothers and newborns. Optimizing outcomes for our patients has, and always will, remain my driving force in practice when a clear need to continue educating providers and families in our communities arises. And now I have a personal stake… References for listeners: https://drugfree.org/article/marijuana-and-pregnancy/ Intro and Outro music by: Decisions by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100756 Artist: http://incompetech.com/

He started the Medium publication, AINYF (Alcohol is NOT Your Friend) in May of 2020 for this reason, and is the author of the book Bamboozled – How Alcohol Lies to Us All, which exposes the subtle tactics and traps of alcohol and the alcohol industry, while also giving the reader the tools to overcome them. Ep 89: 5 signs you’re doing your inner work from your head If at times you feel stuck or confused with your inner work – what you should do with a certain pattern or if you’re actually getting any results – chances are that you’re approaching your healing from your mind.Your mind and awareness can only take you so far on the road to self mastery. In a sense it’s hanging out in the safe premises of the actual dojo. At one point you’ll be invited into the arena of emotions, nervous system and embodiment. You’re invited to merge the spiritual and the human. To align your heart-mind-body and unify your will.Good news: this will also bring you into a completely new experience of life, yourself and the felt sense of God pulsing through you. There’s another way of operating and your mind doesn’t know about it yet.In this episode, I walk you through 5 signs you can look for that tells you you’re stuck in your head. I also tell you WHY we do this and what the alternative would look and feel like.Tease: There’s a super juicy 6-week initiation to deep embodiment coming up in May. More to be revealed soon…You find show notes in this post on my website
Ep 90: Celebrating the journey – Live Coaching #13 with Tina After eight months it’s time for the last session with Tina. Such a special episode where we look back at the changes she’s experienced and give room for the emotions around ending the sessions to be felt.Tina’s also invited into releasing a part that’s been feeling so much responsibility for making things happen. The tension of this part has been held in her body and as she puts her attention there and taps into trust in her bones, the muscle tension starts to let go.This episode is part of a series on the podcast where you get to listen to me coaching Tina as she’s moving through my alchemical group program Being Me. Get on the waitlist for the next round!Upcoming is also a 6-week intensive that I mention in the episode. You’ll get guided out of your head in figuring things out and deep into your body to embody the fierce force that is you. Read more about Fembodiment here. You find show notes in this post on my website
Ep 91: My journey into the force of the feminine When I say embodying your feminine energy, your mind will start to attach meaning based on previous experiences and unconscious beliefs. Even more subtle, your body will respond with contraction, excitement, resentment, admiration, or something else, from the associations you have made with the word.None of that is giving you the experience of what feminine energy REALLY is and chances are you never venture into it because of your limited perspectives. In this episode, I’m guiding you past limiting ideas and connecting you with the force behind the words. I also share my own journey and initiation into the force of the feminine – after a life of resenting and avoiding it.Join me for 6 weeks of embodying your feminine energy, starting May 14:Read more and claim your spot in FEMBODIMENTYou find show notes in this post on my website
181. Practice Produces Proficiency (Weight Loss Mindset Tip) If you have a weight loss or health goal you’re trying to reach and are struggling with impatience…this podcast is for you! ? A very common roadblock people face when pursuing any goal is impatience. You’ve probably heard that quote good is the enemy of great. We think impatience is the enemy of great. You can’t buy patience. You can’t shortcut its development. You only get patience through experience. It takes time, but developing patience is a critical skill if you want to lose weight and keep it off. The other skill is practice. The definition of practice is the actual application or use of an idea, belief, or method, as opposed to theories relating to it.Translation – doing the work. Practice + patience = proficiency. If you’re missing one of these 2 key ingredients, you will not be successful in reaching your health goals. Listen to this podcast  learn more about this equation for weight loss success, and how to apply it in your own health journey. Leaving Well Enough Alone – a Tough Lumbar Lateral Shift In this episode, Erson goes over a recent Lumbar Lateral Shift Case, who has been doing well for 2 years since he was last seen. He was ipsilaterally shifted the first time, and got back to working out and being pain free for over 2 years. Previously he had recurrent pain several episodes a year even though he was in his late 20s. This time he presented with severe acute, constant pain with a contralateral lumbar lateral shift. After getting him to 0/10 pain, he then complained of a minor scapular tender point and the assessment flared him right back up.

"A Group Of Gays Is A Gaggle" – with BBKyle Ok, be totally honest with me – have you ever hooked up with a work colleague?
Or, actually, the question I'm more interested in is – have you ever known about a work-place hook up that hasn't ended catastrophically?
Well, if you haven't guessed already by the way I framed those questions – this week we are finding out all about a doomed hook up that our guest, Twitch streamer extraordinare, BBKyle had when he was working at Spin, a bar in Chicago's queer neighbourhood Boystown.
But, that's definitely not all that we talk about… Though he is now based in Tennessee, BBKyle says that he loved his time at Spin so much that he would still be working there today if it hadn't closed… now, that's some bar!
We talk about how he ended up in Chicago, what queer spaces offer that other spaces don't, and how being forced to wear a uniform of nothing but booty shorts helped Kyle learn how to love himself…
Do you have any memories of Spin, or clubbing from your own queer scene that you want to share? Well, if you have please get in touch – I want to create the biggest online record of people's memories and stories – go to www.lostspacespodcast.com and find the section 'Share a Lost Space' and tell me what you got up to! "I Just Didn't Know Drag Kings Existed Before That" – with Maria Moschus So, you've probably picked up from listening to this show that I have mixed feelings when it comes to the concept of 'representation'.

I still can't quite articulate why I'm a bit iffy about it, but I think it's something about the commodification of the term. Like, yes, I agree that it's important, but it seems to have been hijacked and monetised by people, which I think is a bit icky…

But, you're not here for my half-baked ponderings.. you're here to listen to a chat about a lost space. So, why am I going on and on about it?

Well, it's because, within this episode, I think there's a really good example of why representation is hugely important. It was through seeing other drag kings that this episode's guest, German drag king Maria Moschus, was born.

And it was a trip to Buenos Aires, where Maria's alter-ego Taiina went for an internship in 2019, where the character got to grow and develop at Carrera de Reyes, a drag king night that ran from 2019-2022.

We talk all about that night, the magic and the chaos of being in a new city, and how not to feel stifled by drag stereotypes…

Do you have any memories of Carrera de Reyes, or clubbing from your own queer scene that you want to share? "Gay Can Be Anything" – with Pepper I'm often guilty of romanticising small town queer bars, but I just think there's something really magical about everyone being in the same space and not segregating and splitting off in to different sub-communities like leather and lesbian and bears (oh my!)…
But, there are also downsides to this… being in a small city or town can get in the way of you having the freedom to explore who you really are… And, this very thing happened for week's guest, Pepper (who you may know as a finalist in the drag competition tv series Call Me Mother), who started feeling a bit boxed in when people celebrated her drag character but weren't so interested in her non-drag self.
We caught up to talk about The Roost, a legendary bar in the Canadian city of Edmonton. Along the way we chat about what we lose when the LGBTQ+ community gains wider acceptance, learning to be certain of who you are, and, the magic of the 1990s…
Do you have any memories of The Roost, or clubbing from your own queer scene that you want to share? "I Was Afraid Of Being Gay In General" – (with Ronda Vu) It seems hard to believe, but in the early days of the internet there were these things called internet cafes, where you would go, pay some money, and then have access to a computer with the internet for a set period of time.
And this was at a time when the internet wasn't on every phone and every TV and every watch. In fact, lots of families didn't even have computers in their houses… Wild, right?
The reason I'm telling you this is because the internet cafe was, for many queer kids, HUGE. This was somewhere you could go, find a quiet corner, and then discover a world that was, up until that time, a mystery to you…
And that's what happened for Macedonian drag queen Ronda Vu, who used chat rooms to find other gay people and take those tentative first steps in to being the queerdo that she is today.
And, it was thanks to these friendships that she found Bonnie, a gay bar that was found in the capital city of Skopje, capital of the Republic of Macedonia.
Do you have any memories of Bonnie, or clubbing from your own queer scene that you want to share? Well, if you have please get in touch – I want to create the biggest online record of people's memories and stories – go to www.lostspacespodcast.com and find the section 'Share a Lost Space' and tell me what you got up to! Bonus points for embarrassing photos!

Hole in My Life This week we talk about depression, acceptance and filling the holes of our lives. What's up everyone? It's time for episode one hundred ninety-nine of Above Ground Podcast. We thank you for checking in with us for these last, almost four years. We are marching on into 2023 and it's shaping up for more stigma stomping conversations. When we do the deep work of healing we often encounter obstacles. The hole we thought was only inches deep, turns out to be a chasm full of jagged rock, deep water and the Lochness Monster. We must learn to accept that we could be wrong even to such a massive degree as the judgements we self impose.  Join us for our next Mental Health Meet Up on Sunday April 16, 2023 at our favorite spiritual boutique, The Sages Circle 443 Saratoga Rd, Glenville, NY. at 4pm. We hope to see you there. Until next week when we hit 200, get well, be safe, stay ABOVE
I've Been Everywhere w/Abby Tegnelia This week we leave the ones behind and storm into our terrific twos. This is episode two hundred of Above Ground Podcast. Our guest this week, lost her grandmother, brother and dog since coming to be a resident of Nippertown. Abby Tegnelia is the CEO of Capital Region Living and Saratoga Living magazines. Abby shares her grief story with us and also gives us a glimpse into how she stays so positive and creative.    1.8 million people were said to have perished during covid and that number may not be accurate Loneliness and disconnect were at an all time high and we were forced to hole up wherever we were and not always safely.  Ryan Tegnelia died in isolation during lockdown. An extrovert with a co-dependency issue and a functioning alcoholic.    Beloved by his family. Abby reflects so happily and joyfully about Ryan. Ryan ran a law firm, created content for his YouTube channel. Loved being front of the court, in the courtroom, barroom, prison or community. Ryan is missed dearly, but always a chat away Abby says.  We cover that during our conversation on spirituality, meditation, prayer and tradition.    Abby has spent many months now with the grief of so much loss. Ryan’s death caused Abby much pain. But pain can lead to positive energy if you let it guide you and listen. Abby is a Catholic and says that with a rebellious snarl, as the church has many issues still to address. Reiki, Life Coaching, prayer and meditation have all kept her connected to her source and herself.   Abby has been saying her goodnight prayers since she learned then and feels it keeps the universe in sync. That has fostered her greatest creative drive and in born passion to be a writer.    When five year old Abby Tegnelia declared in her journal that ‘I am a writer’. She meant it and made it happen. Abby has written for HuffPost, Vegas News, Afar and of course is at the helms of Capital Region Living and Saratoga Living. Abby has made her path in a creative tornado that touched facets of all the arts but writing is a spiritual calling as much as a dream.  Writing keeps Abby connected to her source. Everything was just until Abby was a writer.  Abby is a writer. And a CEO and a Social Media Expert. Abby is also an aware soul who has kept her life plugged into her bliss.    “No one prepares you for waking up at two am with overwhelming grief”, says Abby. Her goal was to go through the process as healthily as possible and discovered the concept of this often thought of outdated child age coping skill, co-dependency.  Some people don’t appreciate that term and say it causes stigma. Now Abby feels it stems from needing outside validation as to your own personal validation. A term often related to relationships and our unhealthy attachments within them due to trauma, neglect and of course addictive behavior or mental illness.    https://crlmag.com/author/abby-tegnelia/Abby Tegnelia can be found on Facebook, at Saratoga Living, Capital Region Living and on Twitter.    Sunday April 16, 2023 is our next Mental Health Peer Meet-Up at 4pm. Join us at Nippertown's coolest spiritual boutique, the Sages Circle. 443 Saratoga Rd, Glenville, NY. TPP & Will co-faciliatate a safe space, meet up, where we can talk openly and without judgement in a beautiful, soul filling environment. End the weeknd and start your week free of some baggage. Hope to see you there. $5 suggested donation when you sign up or visit the meeting.    Thank you so much for helping us bust the twos and carry on our stigma stomping conversations. Hard to believe its been 200 weeks since we released the first of seven episode
Coping with the Urban Coyote When the coyotes are scratching at the door, and you’re gripping onto whatever steadiness you can find. What’s your reaction? Response? Healthy? Unhealthy? This week the boys tackle coping strategies and help you start coping with the urban coyote.  Thank you for joining us for episode two hundred one of Above Ground Podcast. Four years of the peerspective of mental health every Wednesday on Nippertown and everywhere you pod.   We are into spring and that means cleaning for many of us. When was the last time we looked at our coping skills storage closet? You still holding onto rickety regrets and kindergarten grudges? Spring is the perfect time for tidying up that brain of yours and clearing out the clutter of outdated systems and material that was classic before Vh1 knew the word rock.  According to Therapist Aid, coping strategies are actions we take to deal with stress, problems or uncomfortable emotions. Let’s think about this. When we think unhealthy coping lets think that they are instant gratification with not a long term plan to sustain. But a healthy coping skill don’t always feel good in that moment but they lead you to long term positive outcomes.  What you’re feeling could be factual, but it may not. If you can’t decipher that conundrum you might choose to make a different coping choice. Always remember,  your thoughts have the power to change the way you feel.  Say it again, a bit slower, now. Both positive and negative. We don’t take kindly to your kind, you negatives.  Get outta here you negatives. Banish the negatives by chilling with the positives.  Thanks for listening to episode two hundred one of Above Ground Podcast. Don’t forget to find us on Nippertown and everywhere you pod. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook. Support the show by Buying us a coffee and sharing our episodes with your peeps.  Until next Wednesday get well, be safe, stay Above.

Aging Matters: National Health Care Decisions Day North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall joins us to discuss advance directives.
The Message of Easter Lecture by Swami Tyagananda, given on April 10, 2023, at the Ramakrishna Vedanta Society, Boston, MA.
Episode 244: Maggie Lalley Nicole flies solo this week for a WILD ride of a conversation with NYC comedian Maggie Lalley, who took her childhood trauma and turned it into a *hilarious* off-Broadway musical! Sex Witch The Musical covers Maggie's time in, quote, "a two-person teen witch sex cult," and if that sentence doesn't grab your attention…then we are quite simply out of ideas. Maggie divulges an incredible true tale of Albanian witches, bi-locational powers, and even A-List celebrities (kind of)! Plus, Nicole helps Maggie have *multiple* breakthrough realizations in real time!Follow Maggie on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok at @magslals, and purchase tickets for Sex Witch The Musical (opening April 19th!) at https://www.sohoplayhouse.com/sex-witch-the-musical. Don't forget that you can DM Maggie for a secret discount code!
Episode 245: Rae McDaniel Nicole is once again single-handedly manning the ship for a conversation with Rae McDaniel (they/them), a non-binary therapist, certified sex therapist, coach, Transgender Diversity and Inclusion Educator, AND author of the upcoming book "Gender Magic: Live Shamelessly, Reclaim Your Joy, & Step Into Your Most Authentic Self" — talk about a multi-hyphenate! Rae grew up the adopted child of fundamentalist Southern Baptist missionary puppeteers (!!) in rural Louisiana, got married very young to a cis man, and didn't come out as queer until they moved to Chicago for grad school. Their story is an inspiring example of moving through difficulty to find gender "magic," which they define as that space where "who I think that I am, how I'm presenting myself in the world, who I'm surrounding myself with, and how I'm showing up in the world are all aligned." Rae also discusses how they encourage their trans and non-binary clients to move away from a fear-based paradigm by reframing gender exploration as the magic we are running *towards,* not just the pain we are running away from. It's a fantastic conversation, and we hope it whets your appetite for Rae's book, which launches May 30th!Follow Rae on Instagram at @theraemcdaniel for allllll things Rae, including their newsletter and "Gender Magic" pre-orders!

Vision & passion without action is just an illusion.
But when you combine vision, passion & action in pursuit of your most ambitious goals, you can change the world.
And Tony Doherty has proven it.
Affectionately known as the Godfather of Bodybuilding in Australia, Tony has arguably achieved more in the fitness business than anybody else in the country.
From Doherty’s Gyms, to the Doherty’s Gym Brand, to the IFBB Pro League Australia, to the Arnold Sports Festival, and everything in between, Tony’s resume is astonishing.
But it hasn’t all been sunshine & rainbows along the way.
In this episode, Joseph Mencel sits down with Tony Doherty to chat about his 40 year journey in the fitness business.
From the necessary elements to turn a vision into reality when you start from the bottom, to exerting extraordinary patience in the process, to the preparation & discipline necessary to achieve high levels of success, Joseph & Tony take a deep dive into the valuable lessons Tony has learned through his life experience.
They then change direction and discuss how to keep going when you get knocked down, before addressing the 3 most common dream killers that most of us will experience during our lives, while providing advice on how to maintain perspective through the darkest of days.
Joseph & Tony then close out the episode with a conversation about what the future of bodybuilding and fitness expos in Australia looks like.
An episode so jam packed with practical & strategic advice, we had to break it up into 2 parts!
You’ll want to listen to this one more than once, and share it with everyone you know who is interested in the business of fitness.

Episode 338: Breast Implant Illness & Explant Support with Dr. Robert Whitfield Have you heard of Breast Implant Illness? If you have implants, could they be making you sick? Tune in to hear us interview Dr. Robert Whitfield, a board certified plastic surgeon and expert in breast implant illness who now performs more explants than implants!

Breast Implant Illness (BII), according to Dr. Whitfield, is driven by an inflammatory response to the breast implant itself, or to bacteria (biofilms) that may grow on the breast implant surface or within the scar capsule. This inflammation can create a wide range of symptoms that patients experience after getting breast implants. In this episode, we dig into symptoms to look out for including chronic fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, joint pain and more. We discuss who is most susceptible to breast implant illness, how to determine if BII is driving your symptoms, when to consider explant and how you can support your body for best surgical outcomes.

Dr. Whitfield’s Bio:
Dr. Whitfield is an experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. He completed six years of surgical training at Indiana University Medical Center. He remained at the Indiana University Medical Center to complete his Plastic Surgery Residency and gained additional training in Microsurgery and Aesthetic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Whitfield focuses on providing clients with nutritional guidance, nutraceutical advice, personal genetic predisposition screening, non-invasive radio frequency, minimally invasive radio frequency  and surgical options for treatments all over the body.  He has completed over 5000 breast procedures since 2004 including over 1100 breast implant removals with and without holistic transformations with fat transfer.  He has the largest series of explant specimens with PCR testing.  While serving as the President Elect of the Research Foundation he gave testimony at the FDA hearings in 2019 regarding Breast Implant Illness.

Pre-Dobbs, Many Stories of Suffering Came from Catholic Hospitals. Now, They're Everywhere. Catholic hospitals and existing religious restrictions on abortion are currently co-existing with post-Roe abortion bans across the U.S. And, in states where abortion is still accessible, Catholic hospitals are still a sizeable barrier to accessing compassionate, evidence-based medical care. Amy Littlefield, Abortion Access Correspondent at the Nation, sits down with us to discuss how trauma previously seen at Catholic hospitals when trying to access sexual and reproductive healthcare is now being seen on a more general scale.   Catholic hospitals up 1 in 6 acute-care hospital beds and generally follow rules written by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. These rules ban abortion, fail to promote or condone contraceptive practices, ban direct sterilization of men and women, and deny care to transgender patients. Patients often don’t know they requesting care from a Catholic hospital, or that the few hospitals in their area have a religious affiliation or have merged with health systems that have a religious affiliation. For a deeper dive into care offered by Catholic hospitals, find the past podcast episode here. Before the overturning of Roe, stories out of Catholic or religiously affiliated hospitals included patients having to wait in extreme pain while ethics review boards debated termination, patients having to demonstrate that they were “sick enough” or “deserving enough” for appropriate care, and more. Post-Roe, similar stories are being reported—more generally—at an alarming frequency around the country. Five women in Texas, who were pregnant with wanted pregnancies, were subjected to varying degrees of state-sanctioned torture as they sought necessary abortion care. The Center for Reproductive Rights is currently suing the state on their behalf. Savita Halappanavar died in Ireland after being denied an abortion and developing sepsis as a result. Medical systems waiting for pregnant patients to be “sick enough” or “close enough to death,” endangers and kills people who need and have a right to basic healthcare, including abortion.LinksThe Nation on TwitterThe Nation on FacebookThe Southern Hospitals Report: Faith, Culture, and Abortion Bans in the US SouthRemarks at Press Conference by Plaintiffs in Zurawski v. Dance of Healing In this episode, Dr. David Hanscom talks with psychological anthropologist and ethnomusicologist Dr. Tamara Turner. She shares the origins of her award-winning research into the role of dance and healing in North African communities. Her initial focus was on a career in classical music. But she developed an interest in other types of music that eventually led her to study the music of West and North Africa. She discovered that in Morocco and Algeria, certain communities used music and trance dancing as a healing modality for pain and trauma. These healing rituals could last 8-9 hours. The movement of the dance would lead to an altered state and the level of trance ranged from light rapture all the way to complete dissociation. Dr. Tamara Turner is a psychological anthropologist and ethnomusicologist who has spent more than 15 years researching the role of music and dance in healing across cultures. Her award-winning research in North Africa focuses on Sufi music and dance rituals designed to deal with inter-generational trauma among Black communities who are descendants of slaves from the trans-Saharan slave trade. As both an academic, international speaker, and musician, she has published extensively across arts and health disciplines and has held research positions in the US, UK, and Europe. 24 Ways Adult Child Traits Show Up in the Workplace Part 2 | Episode 206 In a recent episode, I mentioned that I had a whole cascade of memories and understanding that I have experienced some level of trauma in every job I had before recovery This led me to self-reflect on how my dysfunctional upbringing played a role in this using an inventory about workplace traits of Adult Children from ACA. Last week I shared the first 12 traits of adult children in the workplace and today I am sharing the last 12 traits. This week’s episode 206 of the Fragmented to Whole Podcast is about the 24 ways adult child traits show up in the workplace!Support the show by becoming a Patreon member! In this episode of the Fragmented to Whole Podcast, I’m sharing 12 more traits from the “Big Red Book’s” list of how the traits of adult children of alcoholics and dysfunctional families show up in the workplace. I also share how they show up for me, and the top 3 traits that show up most often for me. The last 12 items of the “Working at the Laundromat” list are as follows:13. We are sensitive and can get extremely upset with any form of criticism of our work.14. We want to be in charge of every project or activity, feeling more comfortable when we are in control of every detail, rather than letting others be responsible.15. We may be the workplace “clown” to cover up our insecurities or to get attention from others.16. We are people-pleasers and may take on extra work, or our co-workers’ tasks, in order to be liked and receive approval from others.17. We do not know how to be assertive in getting our needs met or expressing a concern. We may have to repeatedly rehearse our comments before delivering them.18. We have felt that we do not deserve a raise, promotion, better workspace, or a better job.19. We do not know how to set boundaries, and we let others interrupt us. We can accept more work without knowing how to say “no” appropriately.20. We are perfectionists about our own work and expect others to be the same and have the same work ethics and values.21. We become workaholics because it gives us a feeling of self-worth we did not get as a child.22. We may jump from job to job, looking for the perfect position as the substitute for the secure and nurturing home environment we did not have.23. We get upset when people do things that affect us or our work without asking us first.24. We have a high tolerance for workplace dysfunction and tend to stick it out in an unhappy job because we lack the self-esteem to leave.Learn more about Fragmented to Whole at https://higherpowercc.com/podcast/ LINKS MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE:Ep. 205. 24 Ways Adult Child Traits Show Up in the Workplace Part 1Ep. 194. How Building Healthy Boundaries Allows You to Detect Nuance | Episode 208 It wasn’t until several years into my recovery that I realized there were certain things that I thought were fused were not actually fused. That is, I thought where one thing existed, the other automatically existed as well.
