Tell Laura I Love Her I have always liked good female singers with pin point accuracy....for example Celine
Dion with her gentle delivery...Gladys Knight with her perfect phrasing....Aretha
Franklin with her sharp jagged delivery ....Dionne Warwick with her faultless voice
(Heartbreaker being one of my favourite songs)....and of course Tina Turner with her
fabulous range.....a lot can be learned by up and coming girl singers from the likes of
these legends....and at the opposite end of the scale I would like to introduce one of
the worst records ever made...only .in my opinion of course....Tell Laura I Love Her by
Ricky Valance....which reached number one back in the day....but to me it is one of
the worst records ever.

Gene Simmons- launches ’Money Bag Sodas’ in collaboration with Niagara Falls, New York-based soda bottlers and die hard KISS fans Paul and John Janik. Hello Metal heads. This week's show is a example of "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE"
The collaboration between Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, co-founder of KISS and serial entrepreneur Gene Simmons  and partners Paul Janik Jr., John Janik , began with a chance meeting at Cleveland’s “Wizard World” convention.
The long time KISS fans were in attendance with the hope of meeting their rock Idol, who was a featured guest at the convention.  John and Paul struck up a soda-centric conversation with the music legend. Simmons asked for their card, and a week later, Paul received a call from Simmons.
John and Paul explain ,in detail, the chain of events from inception to delivery of the soda.
HOW the collaboration  with Gene blossomed from a business venture to a true personal friendship. They relive  stories of traveling with KISS , befriending Paul Stanley, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer . There are fun antidotes of  hanging out at soundchecks as well  meeting Gene's wife Shannon as guests at their  California home.
“We never dreamed it would be possible to work with someone we have idolized for decades. Gene is the ultimate entrepreneur and a very engaged business partner,” said Paul. “We are honored to have had the opportunity to develop such a rock star-worthy product for soda lovers to enjoy and fans to collect.”
“Paul and John have an impeccable work ethic, as well as a prowess in the premium soft drink marketplace,” said Simmons.
This is a great story and exemplifies that anything is possible as long as you take a chance and go for it.
This is soda royalty! If you have expensive taste, drink Moneybag!

The Meaning of Metallica -Ride the lyrics. Heavy Metal Professor William Irwin shares insight on his new book, the first to ever focus exclusively on their lyrics of Metallica. More than 40 years since their formation, and 125 million album sales later, Metallica is as relevant as ever. Much has been written about the band, but never like this.
The Meaning of Metallica is like a riveting conversation with a close friend. A thematic tour de force that traces Hetfield’s lyrical development across the decades, this companion examines everything from deep cuts like “Confusion” to megahits like “Enter Sandman.” Sure to spark debate and discussion, The Meaning of Metallica provides a close reading of lyrics dense with details and rich with allusions.
William Irwin is Herve A. LeBlanc Distinguished Service Professor and Chair of Philosophy at King's College, Pennsylvania.
Irwin is best known for having originated the philosophy and popular culture genre of books with Seinfeld and Philosophy (1999), The Simpsons and Philosophy (2001), and The Matrix and Philosophy (2002). In 2006, became the General Editor of The Blackwell Philosophy and Pop Culture Series, which includes Metallica and Philosophy (2007) and Black Sabbath and Philosophy (2012), among other volumes.

The 450‘s- Carl Canedy of The Rods introduces his new band. Good evening, everybody. Its Thursday and time for another edition of Metal Mayhem ROC!

Tonight-- show host Jon “The Vernomatic’ Verno has a fun informative interview to share.

Carl Canedy, veteran of over 40 years in the Hard rock and metal community as both a drummer with 80s power metal band The Rods as well as a producer during the early years of Anthrax, Overkill and Manowar, joins the Vernomatic tonight to discuss his new project THE 450s

US based rock group THE 450s releases upcoming self-titled album release “The 450s” on November 19th, 2021 via LOUDER THAN LOUD RECORDS, available for pre-order via this link: https://smarturl.it/The450s

Vernomatic and Carl, take a deep dive into the origin of these tracks, how they came about and give a listen to portions of some of these cuts.

The guys talk about Carl’s connection to Ronnie James Dio as well his current relationship with Anthrax and Overkill. We here at Metal Mayhem ROC like to support our metal heroes in all of their outside projects.

THE 450s is a new American Rock band featuring The Rods’ Carl Canedy on drums. The line-up is completed by James Jacobs (St. James) on guitar, Robert Jacobs (St. James) on bass, Ryan Sambrook on keyboards and Rhett, a veteran of major labels, on vocals.

When the quartet got together in Miami chemistry was effortless, the resultant songs so strong that they caught the ear of legendary producer Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Patti Smith), who went the extra mile in mixing the album, highlighting The 450’s inherent musical tension and dynamics. Chris Collier (Korn, Prong) also worked on the mixing/production, helping to hone the “modern” part of The 450’s “modern vintage” vibe.

The 450s bring an old-school band ethic to bear: No resting on laurels, no copping styles from their forefathers; no pre-fab or pre-conceived anything. “We got together in a room and turned everything up real loud,” they explain. “We jammed and recorded what came out. Ultimately, it’s “about creating this group of songs out of nowhere for no reason other than it’s what we all love to do.”

Metal Mayhem ROC-Sean Peck -The Three Tremors Interview. Also Ozzy Fan Charlie Avino shares account of being at After Hours taping and meeting The Blizzard of OZZ Band. Good evening, everybody. Its Thursday and time for another edition of Metal Mayhem ROC!

Tonight-- show host Jon “The Vernomatic’ Verno has two fun informative interviews to share.

THE THREE TREMORS, the project featuring acclaimed heavy metal singers Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN), Harry "The Tyrant" Conklin (JAG PANZER) and Sean "The Hell Destroyer" Peck (CAGE, DEATH DEALER, DENNER/SHERMANN), will release its second album, "Guardians of The Void", on November 5 via Steel Cartel Records.

TREMORS shot out of a cannon at a frantic pace. They were pursuing an aggressive pace of live performances when the shutdown forced them to cut short their North American tour in the middle of their run in early 2020. They wasted no time, however, and got to work on another new album. Now their sophomore effort "Guardians of The Void" is ready for blast-off.

Vernomatic’s second interview is a cool chat with listener Charlie Avino.

On April 28th, 1981 Marty Duda was a young disc Jockey responsible for booking Ozzy Osbourne & The Blizzard of Ozz  TV show "After Hours" at 31 Studios here in Rochester, New York.  Charlie and Marty were friends and classmates at S.U.N.Y Brockport at the time, and  was in attendance for the taping of that performance.

Charlie heard our original interview with Marty from April of 2021 and reached out to me to share his memories of the event. Stories like what it was like to meet with Ozzy, Randy and the rest of the band, talking drumming with Tommy Aldridge, and to just see and feel the power of an ascending true heavy metal super star in Randy Rhodes.

This is some of the only pro shot video footage in existence of the late Randy Rhoads and Charlie was there to experience it all and share his memories with us.

The guys cover the formation of the band, their unique chemistry of writing and the “Magic “behind the tracks on this album. Its a fun chat with a great band that has its roots in classic 80s style rock but yet still has the sound and feel of a current 2021 hard rock band.

Vernomatic, then has an exclusive interview with Rock photographer Timmy McCrum as he shares his once-in-a-life-time experience of photographing both Van Halen and the Rolling Stones in one concert.

Van Halen capped off their 1981 Fair Warning by opening up for the Rolling Stones on two sold out stadium shows October 24th and 25th at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando FL 40 years ago this week.

Tim shares how he planted his photography equipment in an empty stadium days before the event to get past the strict security system. Tim relives the excitement and euphoria as a un stoppable VAN HALEN went toe to toe with the legendary rolling stones. It’s a great story with an even better ending.

Show host Jon “The Vernomatic” Verno welcomes Armored Saint Vocalist John Bush to the show to discuss the bands brand new release -Symbol of Salvation Live.

Metal Mayhem ROC-Alice Cooper & Ace Frehley Concert Review- Utica NY Sept 22 2021 Good evening metal heads welcome to another edition of Metal Mayhem ROC. Tonight, show host Jon “The Vernomatic” Verno and Metal Mayhem ROC show contributor Ian O’Rourke share their review of the Alice Cooper/ Ace Frehley concert.

Billed as the “OL’ BLACK EYES IS BACK ‘TOUR - Vernomatic and Ian traveled to Utica, NY and took in the concert in the historic Stanley Theatre, located in the downtown entertainment district.

Without divulging exact set list song by song, the guys express their thoughts on both of the band’s sets, give there take on the musicianship of BOTH bands and rate the performance.

Alice Cooper ,who is touring with former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley as his opening act, pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock audiences. Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors.

Ace frehley is one of the first true guitar Gods and has remained a fan favorite from the original four founding members of KISS. With his fun-loving quirky smile and alien cackle, it’s a true treat to be able to see “SPACE ACE” Frehley in 2021.

Brian Wheat of Tesla- How I turned a record collection hobby into a friendship with Jimmy Page Hello Metal Heads! Welcome to the weekend. The Vernomatic and Metal Forever Mark welcome Brian Wheat onto tonight's show. The Metal Mayhem ROC guys take a deep dive into Brian's New book "Son Of a Milkman - My crazy life with Tesla."

Brian shares some insight on the formative years of when City Kidd eventually turned into Tesla and the struggles that all the members endured throughout the years.

Vernomatic and Brian debate Brian's selection of Mt. Rushmore Rockers of all time.

Metal Forever Mark connects with Brian on a personal level as they discuss the effects of the autoimmune condition, Colitis. Some great insight into what Brian has overcame in his lifetime.

Brian Wheat is far from your typical rockstar. As bassist for the multi-platinum band, Tesla, he’s enjoyed the spoils of success and lived the sex, drugs, and rock ’n’ roll lifestyle to the hilt. But it came at a cost, one that took years to repair.

In this deeply honest and utterly revealing memoir, Wheat sheds light on the many challenges he faces, including bulimia, weight issues, and the crippling anxiety and depression caused by his conditions. Just like the songs his legendary band made, this is no-nonsense, blue-collar storytelling at its best. While revealing the vulnerable human behind the bass guitar, this autobiography also offers tremendous stories of life on the road, and collaborations and encounters with legendary figures like his pals in Def Leppard, David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, and Paul McCartney. Son of a Milkman will entertain, surprise, and inspire longtime fans of this enduring band.

We are excited to include that this week's giveaway is a free copy of his newest memoir! Be sure to sign up for our newsletter as your entry ticket, and if you're already a subscriber you've been entered! Sign up here!
