The CNPD, Luxembourg's data-protection authority, has suggested a $425 million fine against Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ: AMZN)
in a draft judgement for alleged violations of Europe's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) related to Amazon's acquisition and use of individuals' personal data, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The penalties is equal to 2% of Amazon's declared net income of $21.3 billion for 2020 and 0.1 percent of sales of $386 billion. On the latest check Thursday, AMZN shares were trading 1.55 percent higher at $3,332.01.
