In today's message, Pastor Scott teaches about the importance of understanding what the Gospel is and what we need to do with it. Follow along using Pastor Scott's outline below. Please help us spread the good news by sharing it with others!

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Mathew - portrays Christ as The promised King
Mark - portrays Christ as The Servant of God
Luke - portrays Christ as The Perfect Man
John - portrays Christ as The Son of God

Mathew - writes like a teacher
Mark - writes like a preacher
Luke - writes like a historian
John - writes like a theologian

Matthew's emphasis was on Jesusí sermons
Mark's emphasis was on Jesusí miracles
Luke's emphasis was on Jesusí parables
John's emphasis was on Jesusí doctrines

Matthew wrote to the Jews
Mark wrote to the Romans
Luke wrote to the Greeks
John wrote to the entire world

Matthewís theme is - Jesus is the Messiah predicted by OT prophesy
Markís theme is - Jesus backed up His words with action
Lukeís theme is - the compassion & humanity of Jesus
Johnís theme is - the deity of Jesus

Mark - portrays Christ as The Servant of God
Mark - writes like a preacher
Mark - emphasis was on Jesusí miracles
Mark - wrote to gentiles in general and the Romans in particular
Mark theme is - Jesus backed up His words with action
