David Parker Ray had many victims during his reign of horror, but some escaped. Reverie True Crime shares a story of one of The Toybox Killer's victims who escaped. The Toybox Killer also had accomplices who helped him torture his victims, who were these people, and what did they do?
After that, she was chained to a pole. For the next three days, Ray and Cindy beat, electrocuted and sexually abused Cynthia Vigil. They always promise that things would get worse. Cynthia had no reason to doubt that the couple would murder her, so she was constantly looking for an escape. After her third day of torture, David left the trailer and he told Cindy Toe, look after Cynthia. Well, Cindy got a phone call and she went to the other room. She made a mistake that ended up being the best thing that ever happened to Cynthia, after she went into the other room, was talking to her friend on the phone, not paying attention to Cynthia at all. Cynthia saw the keys sitting on a nearby table. She realized she had just enough slack in her change to stretch and reach the keys. And she got, um, But Cindy noticed that she was trying to escape, and a fight ensued. During the fight, Cynthia had gotten to the phone and Dowd, 911 Now this was a 911 hang up call because Cindy hung up the phone so eventually the cops did show up there But they kept fighting and Cynthia was able to unlock her chains completely, all for except the dog collar. And she was dazed and confused. But she fought off Cindy long enough to grab an ice pick from the trailers collection of torture items. Vigil made her way to the door and out of that trailer after she had stabbed Cindy Hindi in the neck with that ice pick. She was a bad bitch. She waited on her opportunity to escape. She thought Cindy, with all that she had in her, I can't imagine how weak and how mentally and physically drained and tired she was. But she found it in her to find her way out, and she fought for her life. And that is just amazing to me. So Cynthia made her way to the door and out of that trailer. But she had no idea where she waas. She just started running down this road that she found she was naked on Lee wearing that steel dog collar and chains, and she was covered in blood. She struggled trying to get drivers to stop. They just kept driving Pastor, which made me question myself If I saw someone bloodied and chains trying toe stop us and get us to slow down and get in my car. Could Or would I do that? Would I be scared that this person is dangerous? You know, if you see something like that, at least call the police. At least call 911 because I know that not everything is what it seems. And you can get potentially hurt thinking you're saving someone. You could potentially put yourself in danger if that person is truly not in trouble. But Cynthia was definitely in trouble and these people didn't stop. They were probably scared. So she kept running and she ran by so many mobile homes. But she finally saw one with a light on, and the door was open. She basically threw herself into this house and locked the door behind her because she was terrified that Cyndi and David Parker Ray were after her
