Nice Cinco de Mayo. Is that the Independence Day? It is not the Independence Day. Everybody feels like it's everybody says, oh that's basically Mexico's Independence version of Independence Day. Right? That's actually not true. Mexico's Independence Day is Mexico's Independence Day is actually on september 16th which is my Birthday and actually happened 50 years before the battle that Cinco de Mayo is based off of. Yeah, okay, the Singer tomorrow commemorates so think of the Myers Commemorating. So I guess it's kind of like um I mean like veterans say anything like that. I mean we have Pearl Pearl Harbor Day. Yeah, we remember we also D Day in D Day that we remember Veterans Day is it? I think so. I don't think it's the same thing because veterans is just like having this, remember all all veterans overtime, anybody who's a veteran of anything I did, you know, that's a whole lot of super another time. Let's focus on thinking Yeah, to Mario, actually in its name just means the fifth of May um celebrates and commemorates mexicans army's victory in 18 62 over France in the battle of the block puebla puebla during the franco mexican more. So the whole reason the battle happened that we get single tomorrow from is because when Mexico elected its president in 1861 or you know their new president, they were like so far into like financial ruin and that because of past government's not doing things right and things like that. So they basically had to, they're forced to taking payments from european governments which those european governments were France Britain and spain. And so all three of those countries sent naval forces to Mexico. The only difference is Britain and spain were able to negotiate with Mexico and withdraw their forces where in France was just like no napoleon. The third was just like no it's napoleon, I mean yeah it is napoleon. So yeah, napoleon basically was just like no, I'm gonna I'm just gonna stay here. Yeah, he saw the opportunity to carve an empire out of mexican territory and was just like, I'm going to bring 6000 troops here to uh take over Puebla. Like Mexico was like outnumbered by like a lot. They had how much? So it actually doesn't say how much it just says that there. If I switched Wikipedia real quick, we'll probably helped too because yeah, we usually do a history channel but I decided to do a little bit more research. So I went in for also looking at Wikipedia. Yeah, like like Wikipedia is generally more trustworthy even though people can't edit it submit. So France had about 6000 forces. They sit in actually later on, they sent like 30,000 it says here. Um But yeah, like France or Mexico only had 4000. So they were only outnumbered by 2000 at first. But still like that's a lot. When you think About it, 2000 can make a difference. It can, it really can. Yeah, just like we learned like how just even like 100 or like even just 100. I mean that's like something you hear a lot about if your religious and read the bible and that kind of thing, they talk about that a lot were like people are like we're vastly outnumbered and really you look at the numbers and it's like, oh it's only like a couple 100 more or something like that. It's like a couple 100 can make a difference. Yeah, it can get a lot big difference. Yeah. But sometimes the underdog, the people who who have less, sometimes they have less because they chose better people. Exactly. But yeah France was able to sorry wrong country Mexico was able to win that battle and basically reclaim their territory. I mean everything besides California and texas and. Well yeah. Yeah. Yeah because that was brought by America. Um And I mean when you think about it Like when the French finally retreated they had lost nearly 500 soldiers. Um Mexico only lost about 100. So for that number difference that's Mexico turned out a bit better in the end.
