I was feeling inspired to share a few of my favourite Nova Scotian holiday things with you this week, and thought I would pop this post up with lots of time in case any gifts will need to be purchased and shipped. There will be a December episode as usual in a few weeks. No one asked me to mention them or their products or paid me in any way; these are just some favourite things of mine that are perfect for this time of year.Feel free to add your recommendations over in the Facebook group (just search for Nova Scotia Kitchens), over on Instagram (@novascotiakitchens) or down below in the comments. I'd love to see your suggestions! Happy Holidays from my Nova Scotia Kitchen to yours! (Even if you're not in Nova Scotia.)To read: Pantry and Palate by Simon Thibault. Gooooorgeous. Full of history, good recipes, and beautiful photography. To decorate your table: Greens and berries snipped from roadsides (I mean, from your own property or with permission, of course.) I've done this, this, and this. This was my fave kitchen windowsill. To watch while wrapping gifts, writing cards, doing some baking: Martha Stewart Living Christmas Specials from the 90's. Start here, and here. You're welcome. (Not Nova Scotia, but vintage Martha is the epitome of cozy.) Hygge is the Danish concept I mention in the podcast. To cozify: TNT candles (Masala Chai and Spiced Orange are my winter favourites) made in Halifax using essential oils. They last for ages, burn down cleanly and are beautiful even when they're not lit.For your table: Keephouse linens and home goods!

Sara Bonnyman pottery. Her mugs are perfectly shaped with comfortable handles, they're the ideal size, and are just lovely to hold.To eat: Tangled Gardens Cranberry Sage Chutney. Or make your own - there's a great recipe here; just be sure to very finely chop your orange peel, and I added in a bit of cayenne for heat. Finely chopped jalapeno would work well, too.
