Sandra Cooze is joining me today from Canada. She is a mother, published author of the book Journey to Yourself: How to Heal from Trauma, and is a certified intuitive trauma release and self-empowerment coach. Also, Sandra is a transformed trauma survivor, Reiki Master, and a traumatic incident reduction facilitator. When she tells her story, she says that “it feels like someone else’s story” because she is so far removed from the pain of her trauma. In addition to sexual trauma and raped by her boyfriend’s best friend, Sandra was also bullied in her school. At the age of 12, her mom gave her a horse and sent her for riding lessons with a stable master at a local stable. The stable master molested her one day, and she told her mother and didn’t have to go back. Her mother told her not to go there anymore but didn’t speak to her daughter about the incident. On vacation in Germany, Sandra was invited to a party with the owner of the hotel, who was chasing her in an attempt to touch her. This time, her mom played it down to damage her friendship with the hotel owner.Sandra decided to seek out professional counseling. She went to a counselor their family doctor recommended. At the end of her first session, he said to her, “Well, I think you’ve worked your way through this, what am I supposed to do?”. She hit rock bottom, at which point her transformation started. With her own trauma from men in her history, Sandra’s mother was afraid to confront or speak up against abusers. She now understands that her mother’s trauma played into her response to sexual abuse as a young lady.Raising empowered children is important to Sandra. Realizing she needs to heal her own trauma to raise children outside the cycle of abuse, Sandra has worked hard to move through her childhood memories and process the trauma she experienced to be a better mom.Resources MentionedVisit Sandra Cooze on the webBook a Discovery Call with SandraJoin Sandra in her Facebook GroupGet a copy of Sandra’s book on AmazonJoin Me on Speak Loud PlatformSpeak Loud Podcast on the webSpread the message of Speak Loudly Podcast andshare this episode with a friend!***Disclaimer: All content found on Speak Loud Podcast, including text, images, audio, or other formats were created for informational purposes only.
