Today we examine James Alan Mcpherson's A Loaf of Bread. A short story that explores complex problems of morality, race, and capitalism through the lens of a boycott of a local grocery store. We follow two men throughout the story on the opposite sides of this boycott. Harold Green, the grocer who owns the store, and Nelson Reed a man who finds himself square in the heart of a growing movement.
