this is an awesome topic when it comes to reducing anxiety, mastering anxiety because if you can master what you do in your day, you can master your productivity, you can get much further in things that you want to accomplish in life and that in turn makes you feel awesome, it reduces stress, it reduces anxiety response and you can go about your day in a much more clear headspace, feeling less foggy, less fatigued by uh you know the crazy busy life and this crazy year that we're going through, so we can only control what we can in a day, so when we learn how to manage our time better, it in turn just makes us feel way more powerful, way more productive. So yeah let's dive in how we can manage our time better. So the first topic, the first tip that I want to dive into is phone notifications. So when your notifications are on for every single app that you have your phone can steal your attention, uh steal your focus and that can drastically harm your ability to manage your time. So we live in an era where phones uh are a major distraction. Everyone walking down the street is staring at their phone. Uh So many people are just totally distracted while driving on their phones. All this nonsense. Right? I'm guilty. I'm not gonna say that I'm perfect and I never get distracted by my phone. But it's important that we turn off notifications for apps. So I challenge you to turn off some notifications for apps that you know are not immediately important instagram facebook, you know just stuff that is not super important. Right? So I tend to try to not let myself scroll on any social media. I tried to not open my phone first thing in the morning. So that's something that can that can really help you manage your time. I know this one sounds obvious, but these apps are working hard to have your attention every day um So that they can acquire more customers. And that is the nature of business. You shouldn't be mad about it. You should just be uh conscious that businesses are constantly wanting to gain your attention and your um you know they want to gain you as a customer. So there's advertisements. Um You know we grew up watching T. V. And you know being marketed toys, uh you know cars, everything. So there's always someone that's fighting for your attention. So if you don't turn off their ability to do so they will always have um that power of stealing your focus, stealing your attention uh stealing your clarity. So I highly recommend to turn off notifications and minimize the time you spend on social media because it's a loophole they make it that way because it's super fun to just scroll and check out stuff you're interested in on social media. I love, I mean I love social media in some aspects, I hate it in others. So it's a love hate relationship. I tend to recommend others to be aware of the pros and the cons of it and just not allow it to suck up all your time. So Number one turn off notifications as much as possible. Um you know, if it's not an emergency, if you leave your text messages on and your calls on for you know family or whatever, maybe that's ok, but at least try to turn off notification for apps that are not directly important. Uh Number two, exercising is so important. So when you exercise, you release stress, you release anxiety so that you can go about more uh in a more focused state through your day. So if first thing in the morning you can exercise, you've already accomplished something awesome for your day and you're already in a more clear state, you're in a more productive state, so you're more likely to accomplish more goals throughout the day and be more focused, has to be in a kind of more slouchy mood, more like kind of reactive and and seeing what will go, like how this day will go. So if you can exercise first thing in the morning, it may not have to be like a hardcore gym session, it could be walking your dogs, it could be going for a walk, it could be a stretching session, it could be some push ups, so something to kind of kick start your day in the morning is super awesome to boost your productivity and your time management because it makes you go about your day in a different fashion, So um that would complete number two, Number three, keeping a journal is super important, I have found it to multiply my productivity because when I write things down on paper it kind of de clutters my mind and it lets me kind of just like do just that declutter my mind because we're constantly thinking about things, if if we struggle with anxiety or stress, we're constantly giving ourselves a reason to worry. So if we can just write things down that we have to accomplish, or or goals that are that we want to accomplish were more likely to act on them, So I would highly recommend to keep a journal, um you can just kind of flow out whatever's on your mind, and then from that kind of summarize what's really important and what you need to accomplish 1st. Um and that goes into the next step, which is uh focusing on knocking out what's more important first because those tasks take the most energy. Um and they're the most important, right? So that's the thing that's gonna make you feel best at the end of the day if you accomplish. So I highly recommend using the first hours of your day to accomplish the most important task that you need to accomplish for that day. Uh, so the load gets easier as you go and you use your most valuable energy right off the bat. Uh, my number five, recommendation might be a little bit offsetting, but uh, I figured, I think the way I I thought about it would be very helpful as well, which is having an amazing sleep routine. So the way you go about going to sleep every night, we'll kind of set your tone for the next day as well. So if you go to sleep scrolling on social media uh watching an action movie or a dramatic show, you're kind of putting yourself in a stressful state before sleep. Uh You're kind of not setting yourself up for a great sleep. Um I think that that can also impact your time management because it will impact how you feel. It will impact how deep you sleep and how early you're able to rise. Uh So some practices that I love to implement before sleep are stretching, drinking hot camomile tea or any t. That is uh that is caffeine free. That is herbal. I bought this one called Sleep by Yogi I think it's called. It has like a blend of many herbs that are really relaxing and good to help you fall asleep at night. So I highly recommend that you start to implement those things, drinking some hot tea, stretching before bed. That way you kind of ease the stress off of the day. Try to stay away from social media because you never know what kind of drama you're gonna run into. Their, what kind of stuff is altering your brain right before you go to sleep. So I highly recommend just slowing down, winding down before bed if you watch tv I'm guilty of it myself. I don't always not watch tv oftentimes I'm watching something on netflix. I at least try to aim for something that is not highly dramatic, highly um you know problems some, I don't even know if that's a word but highly action. Um uh you know highly action oriented type of show or movie before bed because it's just gonna wire you and you want to get a deep, peaceful, uh, as much as a deep peaceful sleep as you can get and every action, every habit through your day contributes to that. So, um, having a great sleep routine, we'll have you well rested able to tackle the next day. Um, and yeah, great sleep is highly underestimated. We live in a society that's like grind grind grind sleep when I'm dead. No way. We've already countered that so many athletes and and successful people are opening up about How important it is to sleep and sleep well and sleep eight hours, seven, whatever you know, you feel is is good for you, making sure that you sleep. Um, and yeah, I just said sleep, sleep sleep like 10 times, but sleep is amazing. It's awesome. You can't replace.
