Sociologist Michael Kimmel has spent hundreds of hours in the company of America’s angry white men including white supremacists to men's rights activists to young students.  Downward mobility, increased racial and gender equality, and a tenacious clinging to an ideology of masculinity has left many men feeling betrayed and bewildered. Raised to expect unparalleled social and economic privileges, white men are suffering today from what Kimmel calls "aggrieved entitlement".  Many white men believed that the benefits were their due have been snatched away from them.  Michael believes that the school shootings perpetrated by middle-class white male students, the men’s-rights movement, white supremacists, the fathers’-rights groups, and more are due to aggrieved entitlement.  The choice for angry white men is not whether or not they can stem the tide of history because they cannot. Micheal is interviewed by Hanna Rosin, the author of "The End of Men".Source: C-Span: After Words with Michael KimmelAutism Linked to Pesticide ExposureWomen's exposure to agricultural pesticides during pregnancy appears to sharply increase the risk for developmental delays and autism in their children, according to a paper published in Environmental Health Perspectives.
