The boys talk about some different types of personalities in the BJJ academies. We didn’t get to cover the list extensively, but hit on quite a few of them. If you find yourself on this list, maybe start to shift how you act in the gym a little....or a lot.
Many of us go into jiu jitsu with preconceived ideas of what it is or how you should be viewed by others at the gym. The longer you go, the more likely it is you will change your views.
Our egos tend to really get in the way of both our technical progress and ability to make friends. The sooner you let that go the sooner you’ll fit in and get better.
That being said, there can be pitfalls such as when you start seeing success against teammates you can get that ego right back and act like a tool all over again. Try not to fall into this trap.
Also....we had a special guest on the show! Our good friend Austin. We’re going to put him in charge of all the things we suck at so now if it goes wrong we can just place the blame on him rather than ourselves.
