what was the first your first exposure to beauty? I don't wanna see the beauty industry itself. Well, my mom was a singer. So she basically would, you know, turn from mom of four kids to this singer who would go on stage every other night. What kind of things that lounge cabaret singer, pubs, clubs, that kind of thing. And she basically just like turn it on and just like red lipstick, black mascara, loads of bronzer. She was like bronze herself up so much to the point where like, I was like, now I'm like, how did you get away before? Like foundation is where you don't forget what makes it work, Do not know how, but like, just seeing my mom transformed from like the mom at home, like glad rags to them. It's like drugs, like glad rags clothes. Yeah, but it's not like casual or dressy, dressy. So she's like transferring from handbags and Glad rags dramas and like, you know, at home clothes and then being this sparkly, like eighties get up for your kids and she's just like transforms. It was amazing. And ever since I was a baby, I was just like looking at my mom putting makeup on and Where were you in the siblings? Therefore baby seven Years between me and my, the one that's up from me and then the others are much older. So it's, I'm 35, my sister's 40, then one of my brothers is For you, like six and one of them is like for you. Okay, fine. So you're very much at home alone with your mum almost at times. Yeah. And when she was getting ready and she's using all of these products, is there anything that you would sneak up and use? Or anything that was like your favorite thing that you want to get your baby hands on? Weirdly, No, but I always was infatuated with her mic. Her mike would always have red lipstick on the end of it, like in the head. So gross. But like, it would always get stained red. She would always wear this exact same read like a revlon red. She's very much the revlon red. Um and she um yeah, the mike would always just start like, we should get a new mike. It wasn't my mom's like until like it got more red on the top because she'd sing so close to it that it would like get rid. It always smelled like lipstick. Yeah, probably might smell like metal and lipstick, which is the weirdest things. Did you steal it then? Did you specific? Yeah, because I wanted to be a singer too. I mean, I still do things just for fun. It's funny how much holding a microphone when you're young. It's such a big deal. And I don't think I've done that for years. But when I was younger, you speak time. Yeah. Yeah. Presents you turn it on. Yeah. When you start wearing makeup yourself, Probably when I was about 30, Maybe when I was about 13. I feel like when I think back to make up in my first things, it was definitely stuff that I find in a market in Southport market really is randomly. It wasn't like Boots or super drug. It was like, it was probably just a market where I could because it was cheaper than that. There was a quid for a lipstick. But then I think when I think to Boots and like make up, I think the first thing that I can think of that I remember owning my own was like normal birthday suit. Okay. Like one of them, you know, and when you were growing up, was there anyone that you aspired to be like or look like? Did you have an idea in your young mind of what you might do when you grew up or who you might, I want to emulate in some way. Yeah, it kind of changed throughout the years, like depending on what was watching on tv. So it was like, I think when I was a little, it was kind of, I don't know who it was when I was super little, but I always knew I wanted to be like in the arts will be in media or singing or acting, makeup was just always a very natural interest because mom and because of how transformative it is, it's like such a transformative tool that we have that can change our mood dramatically and just express ourselves. Um but it changed like from yet through the years, from like Mariah Carey then it was brandy because I used to watch my show like every single day I was like, I want to read you because she had a tube in the show and like it was just, it very much evolved and then it like went to jennifer Lopez. I used to go out and in some clubs with like wearing a bandana and a big floppy hat over it. Oh God, it was so awkward. Did you do it well when you look back? You know, not even a little bit.
