Today's episode is with my dear and brilliant friend, Dorenus Johnikin for a conversation about money, investing, dreams, and so much more. Dorenus is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Persea Capital, a boutique hedge fund based in Detroit. He has an in-depth knowledge of financial derivatives, asset-backed securities, equity and fixed income securities, and deal execution. To date, Mr. Johnikin has been involved with the structuring and issuing of more than $35 billion dollars of public and private debt transactions. He’s managed more than $500 million dollars of equity, fixed income, and derivative portfolios, and he’s initiated more than $8 Billion of Sell-Side transactions in the Commercial Paper (CP) market. Mr. Johnikin has established research and investment processes centered around a team-based approach, designed to deliver superior risk-adjusted performance over full market cycles through a range of U.S. and global investment strategies including equity, fixed income, convertible and alternative investments. Mr. Johnikin earned a BBA with an emphasis in Banking and Finance from Mississippi State University, a MSc in Financial Planning from the University of Alabama, and a MSc in Finance from Florida International University. Mr. Johnikin is a Level II Candidate of the Chartered Financial Analyst Program and holds the Series 65 Securities License.
