Evensong for Maundy Thursday:Psalms 142, 143 – St. Dunstan's Plainsong PsalterFirst Lesson: Leviticus 16:2-24 (KJV)Antiphon on Magnificat – The Monastic Diurnal NotedMagnificat – St. Dunstan's Plainsong PsalterSecond Lesson: John 13:1-35 (KJV)Nunc Dimittis – St. Dunstan's Plainsong PsalterSilent Our FatherFinal Antiphon: Christ for us became obedient unto death.Collect for Maundy Thursday.Note: The celebration of Evensong is simplified according to the rubrics in the 2020 Ordo of the Ordinariate of the Southern Cross during the Triduum. The Office begins immediately with the psalm, and there are no Glory Be's. Following the Benedictus is prayed a silent Our Father, followed by a sung final antiphon, and then a spoken collect for the day. This is an act of reverence for the Passion and Death of Christ. It makes the full renewal of the celebration on Easter Sunday all the more rich.
