The crew at the Marvel Cinematic Podcast discuss the latest Loki trailer, and what it leads them to believe about the show. The main take-away for the cast seems to be that Loki will be a buddy cop story and Loki may finally have met his match in Mobius, aka Owen Wilson.
you focus on the low key. Well the thing that I took away from this trailer more than anything else was the fact that like it really seems like this is going to be sort of a buddy cop story. Like the lines where they're like why do you trust this Loki variant? It's as if like this Loki is this low key that we're getting he's a different Loki than we saw and all these other versions or like in the future everything past of injuries is is undone and this is a low key who is still a villain and for some reason this guy trusts that he can become good which makes me think that he knows about his other possible timelines for sure he does and it's like he's trusting that if he invests properly this guy will do good things for the timelines or whatever. Honestly I don't even know that Mobius Owen Wilson's character really wants or is really interested in Loki doing good so much is just helping to fix the problem. Like that's what I mean whether it doesn't like doing actual like doing ethical good or whatever, I think he's just he's means to an end kind of thing. Um Right, and I think that we're going to see somebody who might be as good as a manipulator as Loki and I am so here for it because like not just as a buddy cop but it's you know, it's not like buddy cop crime thriller, like that's not the only thing, it's buddy cop crime thriller where both of them think that they have advantage over the other and they're constantly working against each other as far as like yeah machinations and trying to manipulate and you know, and and get one over on the other. It seems like his movies where you have a serial killer that's helping the cop and you have to like oh is he is he on the side of good as he turned up relief I trust him because he's so charismatic but should I be trusting him and it's gonna be really interesting? I'm super and it's a time travel story and you know I love a time travel story. I know you love a time travel story, he's like you've stabbed people in the back like 50 times, literally I'm not gonna do it again, I'll never do it again. He's like you literally stabbed 50 people in the back. That's so good that I love I love that little those little minutia moments of like the movie is saying like I've studied every moment in your life as in you know or the other one where he like he pushes the button drops him down, it's like pushes a stack of paper toward him, Sign this to verify everything you've ever said. So yeah. And then he says, this is absurd. Like another thing prints out and he's like, this one too, I hope he has to teach him like get help and they have to like, I was like, oh, I already know it. Don't get help. Get help. I don't want to get help. Why are you blonde jerks always make me do get help. And you know, honestly like after watching this trailer, I'm, I'm excited. Like I wasn't excited before when I, when I had heard that Owen Wilson was going to be in this series, I was like, okay, Owen Wilson is kind of a, I'm a little over him, but like now that they're like showing me Owen Wilson in action, I'm like, okay, I'm, I'm back on board. All right, wow. They brought me back.
