Pastor Josh closes out our first digital series, "The Cross and the Grave" with the Easter message of Christ's victory over the grave and the interactions between his followers and the angels...even Jesus himself!

We see that in the Easter story, nothing new was happening. Jesus had spent his entire ministry discussing his death and resurrection. Had the disciples listened, there would not no shock and awe from the disciples. They would have simply acknowledged that Jesus had done what he had said he would do. The confusion of Peter walking around the empty grave confused at what had happened is a stark reminder for us to make sure to pay attention to the Word of God, so that we wouldn't be taken aback by it. In the encounter on the road to Emmaus, the men who encounter Jesus are open to explain the death of the king of the Jews. They give one of the first full gospel presentations to Jesus himself, explaining how he was a great teacher and someone who they believed was the Son of God. This is encouraging to know as we see that Jesus' death was going to be proclaimed so imagine what his resurrection was going to do for the world. We see this in the early church leaders boldly told of Jesus' life, death and resurrection. We also have the same opportunity and charge!
