Laser pointer syndrome as per the AKC is a detrimental OCD type behavior that stems from compulsive chasing a reflections, lights, and shadows. The AKC reveals that the laser usage leads to this behavior due to a dog's frustration anxiety and confusion at the unattainable red dot.
