so you can pick up the phone book, has anybody like really like desperately ready to do that. I know saying you're super busiest. Don't read anything you were wanting to do that maybe. Yeah, depending on how the book is getting received. Cool. All right. We're talking about the duel from star Wars visions. Get everybody on the same page. Um, let me give you that summary coming from the production house, kamikaze do yoga or is it due to whatever it is. I don't hate the fact that I can't say those words right. Um, and director Takanobu mustn't Mizuno and I hear Mizuno I think about the baseball equipment that I used in literally, they were all made by Mizuno. Anyway, um, it's a japanese memory. It's the japanese name, it's a japanese name. It was japanese company. Um, anyway, they made the duel and it tells the story of the samurai, like Ronan who comes upon a sleepy village just before marauders arrived at pillage and torment its people. Uh, rating on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 to 10 CIF, khyber crystals. BB Nate Go eight. I don't really find much wrong with this. I mean, it wasn't as to the level of the ninth jetty, but it wasn't like, I could find anything that I didn't enjoy about it. I'll give it an eight just because I remember watching it and thinking, all right. If this is about as good as this series is, we're in for a great, right? And then obviously I got surpassed pretty soon after. Um, but yeah, it's, it's a fun short. I would, I would go with an eight to, I thought it was fantastic. It wasn't my favorite ninth. Today is my favorite. Um, there's some others that I, I, the more I watched them, the more I decided, but this is one that I watched it the other day in preparation for this and I'm like, that was really good. So there's a lot in this that is really clearly intended to pay homage to uh, Akira Kurosawa with it. What are some of the specific things that you guys noticed with that Ronan is in a tea shop when he enters the town, similar to make fun in Yojimbo. Um, yeah, the wind rolling in on the road, pulling it grown into uniform instantly bringing to the mind the classic shot of moon walking through the dusty streets toward the gang who needs to be taught a lesson that's good, bad and ugly. I mean I was stolen from that idea. I watched that scene and it just seemed like exactly like, like classic showdown is, it is a western showdown and you have the soul stones shop functions. I'm doubly to the space that Buffoons character finds himself in as he watches a competing sides duke it out for control of their tiny village. I mean it was just the west side story in feudal japan. Yeah, Well, I mean it's very Similar. You need to watch your Jimbo because that looks like a lot more interesting than seven Samurai. You are sick and drugged up. That's also uh, what else did you see? Sam yeah, It also brings in elements from seven Samurai Um, as the villagers under attack are, you know, circled before the bandits just like the opening of the Kurosawa film in 1954. Yeah, it's got a lot of curse out in it, but it's not just that, I mean we were watching the short and you know, the duel between Iran and in like Frankenstein's Bride. Um, it pulls a lot from the prequels. There's a lot of things on that. One of a few things you guys noticed from that the Revenge of the Sith on Mustafar, you had the duel between Obi wan and Anakin on the lava on the machines that are floating on it and then you have the logs in this on the river, which seem exactly the same. I mean we right as we saw it both. Sam and I looked at each other, we're like, this is just Revenge of the City. But that was one thing I did notice. What about, Yeah, this one, I uh, they mentioned it in the featurette for this one, the phantom menace energy barriers in the final duel, uh, like Mall, He's getting all impatient. He's striking at the barrier and stuff. The Frankenstein's Bride or whatever and this one, she's on the log between the uh, the waterfall and she's like striking at the waterfall. Getting ready to go after running. So, uh, which is cool to see them kind of blending um, you know, uh, to classic Star wars moments with very classic japanese film with that. That was a lot of fun. The opening sequence um, is where things uh, took a turn. Yeah. Well, it's interesting because it starts off with with running on the outskirts of the village and the marauders, they're coming in, they're entering the village um, in this big, like massive personal carrier and they're going, you know, they're, they're, they're like exercise their tax from these villagers. Yeah, the british are coming. Um, and then, but while the village defends itself, Ronin, he's refusing to get involved until like that. Right? Because that's the only thing I could think of when I see her. Um, that bride of Frankenstein sit with comes out with her lightsaber umbrella and like starts like an inquisitor on. Yeah. And then blends everybody. Yeah, it was not. Um, anyway, just like the audience watching this city with um, Bride of Frankenstein smith assumes that Ronan is a jetty. When he finally comes in, he starts intervening with this and then Ronan says, it's a shame I'm not a Jedi Sam does this line combined with runs red lightsaber mean that he must be a sit or is there anything else going on. Is something else going on here? I don't know. I mean, I think that's what we're led to believe and that's a fair assessment. I mean, you could think that, but my mind immediately goes to, I think he's a dude. He finds out that he's forced sensitive because we know he is, he stops the play between his hands. It's a very samurai film thing, Right? And then he takes it upon himself to run around and protect people. Like what a ronin does. He comes across smith kills a sit, starts collecting their sabers. He makes himself a saber. It just happens to be read. I think that's where the roman comes from. I don't think he's necessarily, is it? Yeah, I think he has a moral code to where he only kills city, but not Jedi. So, Well, you know, Robin norman doesn't seem to really care about anything in this short. Um, that's going on when the village is being attacked or anything until his own droid is damaged. Are his actions at that point, just kind of a form of revenge? He gets ticked off. That is droid. No, I think that it's more of a, okay, well, it looks like I'm going to have to get involved in this. This won't settle by itself, otherwise the city is going to win and take over this village or I'm gonna have to intervene. And so I think that that's what it shows. I don't think so. Why was this droid wearing a straw hat, because why not? Because it's anna may I ask you? I ask you this why not? Exactly? Uh, it's interesting to define Ronan. Okay, the what that means really. It's a, it's a vagrant samurai without a master. It's a samurai who becomes master list either upon the death of his master or after the loss of his master's favor or privilege. So could are running in the duel actually be a city who lost his master's favor reminds me a lot of Mall. That's a good point actually, that would make sense. Um, and that would cause him to be a bit jaded and that's why he goes around and hunts the sit down. Um, that's, yeah, that's an interesting, What do you think? I'm, yeah, I'm pretty sure he just lost the favor of his master and, or maybe he just saw the ways of the south aren't the right ones and that's how he lost his favor. Um, that could be a, that was not agenda, I guess. We just need to read the book. It does really remind me though of mall and massage. It does um, in those storylines and kind of how they were, they were sort of rejected by their masters and ended up kind of having to go off and do their own thing. It kind of reminds me of that we haven't had the opportunity to read, We talked about that. Um, read the roman novel yet, so we don't really know the whole story. Um, but as we discussed in our spoiler, free review of the entire Star Wars Vision series, you go back and listen to that episode are interesting continuing to learn more about this enigmatic character. I was definitely piqued. Um, yeah, thanks. Thank you. It was a good thing. It was a good segment. Was a good segment. Anything else you guys want to talk about?
