Today is Tuesday, November 10th, 2020 and Miles November Football does not disappoint my friend. Well, I mean, you're right, you're absolutely right. It did not disappoint. Am I disappointed? Yes, but it in like the pantheon that its football? No, not necessarily. But we'll get into the reason why I'm crying later. But November football it came out, man, and it showed up in a big way. Big way, big way. One term that we'll hear a lot this upcoming weekend as the Masters will go down is you'll hear it on Saturday, especially. They call it moving day. It's moving day. The leaders will move up or they'll move down on. That's kind of what November football is. It's kind of the moving month. You the the rial threats prove that their threats, while the teams that you shouldn't take as seriously they give you a reason to do so. But the game that I want to start with this week from NFL Week 9 2020 is the game that I became that everybody is talking about the New Orleans Saints beating the top Obey Gronk A nears 38 to 3 in this week Sunday Night Football game. Miles. I think it is time to discuss the legitimacy of the New Orleans Saints making a Super Bowl run this year. You know what some people have heard me say this before. Honest to God, the way it goes for miles, thorns, football, uh, milestone football teams. It's the Hawks. Duh. Then there's about 30 empty spaces just because you gotta have a lot of love for your main team. But right after that is the Saints and up until this game with my love of the Saints intact. And you all know I like the Broncos this season, but it hasn't always been that way. But with the Saints, it wasn't until this game that I honestly wanted to have that conversation and brother it is here because no one saw the Buccaneers after their first slow start game, taking a absolute drumming like this with Brady at the helm like, I don't think we thought it was possible. But we all see this scoreline and something has changed, and I think that something is either a lack of continuity on the Buccaneer side as this was Antonio Brown's first game, Um, they had a full cupboard of all of their weapons that they could possibly want to surround Tom Brady with. And remember when I mentioned that Saints defense on the last episode and how I want to take a second to shed some light? Well, if I didn't do that, the Saints defense demanded their leagues attention last or Sunday night as they put the clamps down on what might be the most star studded offense we've seen in years. And they held him. You know that Score Sheets gonna say 38 to 3 for the rest of eternity. But anybody that watched that game knows that the Buccaneers kick the field goal with three minutes left to make it 38 to 3. So it was 38 to nothing 57 minutes through that game until Bruce Arians officially threw up the white flag and surrendered and just took a pity field goal. So he doesn't have to look back in his record books and see that he got shut out on November 8th in Raymond James. Oh, no, no, no, no, Joey. I mean, not to correct you, sir. I wouldn't dream that, but he was not shut out yesterday. No, sir. The Buccaneers have been shut out of the wind column when it comes. Thio versus Saints Football. That is right. This is just the first one, is it? So it's not because the Saints did. We win in week one in the Superdome. Um and hey, we hinted toward it last week. This is the first time that Tom Brady has ever been swept in the season. This is the first time ever in his 21 year career history that he's gone. Oh, in two against a certain team. Do I want to play the Buccaneers again? Hell, no. But, man, did the Saints just assert themselves? And, hey, remember that quarterback that everybody was saying was too old? Didn't have the arm strength, couldn't do it? Drew Brees. I think that was the narrative about 34 weeks ago. Well, with Drew Brees going now, his record against Tom Brady all time is five and 25 and two against Tom Brady. Um, Drew Brees had a vintage game last night. The surgeon was back in town and he was just dissecting the Buccaneers defense left and right. And up and down and not just you breeze. And well, actually, I digress. Almost just Drew Brees. That being, I think one of the more exciting parts of this because you and I brought this up like Drew Brees is on the I r. And I are list. Drew Brees is possibly battling and injuries. Could we see some more of these other two quarterbacks coming into play? Mainly the name Jamis Winston, who did throw for one completion, as did we see Taysom Hill take the field? But neither of them put up the points, numbers or prowess of Mr Drew Brees, who commanded this game and not unlike that same Saints defense still commands our attention and respect in this league. Absolutely. And the Saints right now are now at six and two, If you remember. If you've been listening to this podcast this season, you will remember five weeks ago four weeks ago when we were watching them play the Chargers while we were recording and they were down 22 3. There were two and two at that point, and the Saints have engineered this five game winning streak. They were one and two. They've won the past five, um, and they're really starting to play their best football. Last night was the first time since the first game of the season that Michael Thomas was on the field. Did he have a huge game? No. But did he demand the attention? Of course he had a few catches. Drew got him the ball early. And, man, the Saints team is looking like a very, very complete team in the NFC. And I think that you can really include the Saints with the Seahawks with the Packers, Um, for this race for the number one seed, because this year the race for the number one seed is more important than ever with the changes they made to the playoffs, the number two seed does not get a buy anymore. The number two seed does not get a by it, which is huge. So the Saints right now are starting to get hot at the right time. Oh, absolutely. And if we're talking about hot and teams on one hell of an upswing, there's one team that we're going to talk about. The absolute shootout that we saw between the Youngun stunning out there. But I want to make a quick aside to the four game win streak that thes Miami Dolphins have now found themselves in with a brand spanking new quarterback. My favorite backup quarterback in the league, I think, still should have moved on. Uh, and then they kind of buried the lead there. But they made it the fourth win of this of this streak. The Dolphins coming up on top of the Cardinals in what was to be the shoot out of the young kids at the OK corral uh, Kyler Murray and to ah, hunger. Vilo. Oh, thank God. Uh, don't ask me where the end comes from there, but that's true, I promise. Never do that again. I will learn this man's name. Um, because I gotta learn this man's game. He was thrown all over the field. Uh, 248 yards went 20 for 28 0 interceptions, Which you could say for both quarterbacks, I think, which is just probably the biggest number you can see on the score sheet. Two young guys, neither making big mistakes. You know, of course, there could have been more on the field that I don't notice, but as faras numbers and just watching them play. It was one hell of the game. It was everything I think we wanted. Absolutely. It was everything that we possibly wanted, right? We were saying last episode how we wanted a game in the thirties here. Well, we got a game here in the thirties and, man, I could watch these to go back and forth all day. Really? Between two, uh, and Kyler. It's just so exciting. Toe watch. And this was one of those games where, um afterward I was just thinking, Wow, the NFL is in really good hands for after breeze. After Brady, after Rodgers, after Big Ben, we're still gonna have quarterbacks that demand our attention. That air must watch TV every time they go on the field. And, hey, how about two? Uh, his first game 12 of 25 quite pedestrian numbers. And then he just goes and says, You know what? I can I got this. I got this. Let me spin that ball and that he did around the field. Oh, absolutely. Um, it's gonna be one of those things where we used to not have to care about the dolphins and how they did in this league. I'm not saying those days are over. I'm seeing Those days are far and behind us. At this point, if you're going to go up against the Dolphins, you're not playing the Jets. You're not playing the Cardinals from 15 years ago. You're playing too, and the fins and you gotta pay attention because bad things will happen to you. Not unlike some of the bad things that might have happened back East yesterday on that faithful day, that faithful day that I've been It was just yesterday, folks, obviously the Seahawks fans are still mourning. Um, we lost. We took Anel. We went down Thio the bills who beat us at our own game? Because, Joey, they knew what we were playing the issue. Waas. We played vintage Seahawks football. Not a great first quarter. Not a great first half, but throughout it. Ah, defense that could show you what it wanted. I saw the pocket collapse on Josh Allen more times than I can count. But because the Seahawks were playing their game and the bill saw that we did not start attacking the shit out of, uh, Mr Allen till the second half, which was great. I do think are Seahawks defense came up in that regard, but a 44 point scoreline does not seeing a successful day on defense, to say the least. We'll talk about offense, of course, but it had both sides. Yeah, it did. And that Seahawks defense. They really, really have to get serious about getting better, because right now the Seahawks past defense is the worst past defense in the NFL in the past 20 years. So they are really, really flirting with danger. I mean, yesterday, like you said a slow start, right? The Bills got out to a 17. Nothing lead, and they did not look back. It's hard to come back on a team when you're down, so it's hard for any quarterback. Even Russell Wilson, Thio engineer, Come back when you go down 17. Nothing. And that other team scores 27 more points on top of that lead. It's gonna be hard to come back from that every single time. And, you know Russell Russell bails out that defense. Russell is that good toe where he Kenbrell out at a whole other side of the ball. Um, but the bills today were the better team the bills. We've been talking about, how they're hot, they're cold. You know, The past couple weeks they had won some games, but it didn't really turn any heads. But this year did this really got the attention of a lot of people, and I think a lot of people are going to start taking the bill seriously again after this win, absolutely in a way that I think is well deserved. But if I could make the point, you've said that in the past. It's really just comes down to your your errors. What do you do, right? And what do you wrong? Are you making a lot of mistakes and a lot of bad ones and looking over this stat line? You know, the game It was the game itself was the game. Anyone who watched it saw what I saw. I really encourage all Seahawks fans the ones that they're just like crying themselves to sleep Sunday night to take a look at the stats because you're not going to see a lot of difference. Total yards, literally one yard off, rushing yards, passing yards, not too much of a difference there. We Rushmore yards per play was almost the same where you're going to see the big ugly differences are the fumbles lost in the interceptions thrown and I believe those are where this game was lost because again, I want to stand for this Seattle's defense. We sacked the hell out of Josh Allen constantly. That pocket was collapsing. Like, uh, insert metaphor here. I'm too too wild about football right now to talk or to think. Um, and that was the entire first quarter. We didn't get those big hurry up in sacks, I think, until the second half. But they came. But like you just said, you know, when you allow a team to go up on you the way that they did and especially at the expense of our terrible areas um, egregious errors on both offensive defense, I think that's where this game was lost. I think that's what Seattle should look forward to this next Rams game with some hope, because we can still do this, folks, we can still make this happen. But yeah, that passed defense. Being the worst in 20 years is nothing. I can explain more want to try like that's ah, hard hold to dig out of Yeah, and you know it's going to be paramount moving forward for any team that wants to have postseason success to avoid that whole avoid that multi scored deficit before you even get going in the game, right? It's very well documented how hard it is for West Coast teams to travel to the East Coast. Yesterday's game started at 10 a.m. According to those Seahawks body clocks, right, And it showed they really didn't get going till about 11 o'clock 12 o'clock their time, if you will, on dis bills. This Bills team was desperate. They look super desperate in the good way. There's two types of desperate when it comes to football. This was the good type of desperate and the fact that they played with urgency. They knew that they had to score early to get on top of the Seahawks because once Russell gets going, good luck stopping it
