Hey! Welcome to Move Wild Podcast, a podcast dedicated to understanding human health from an evolutionary perspective, and integrating the universal principles of human health and wildness into our lives. Each week I interview and discuss with guests on topics and conversations entered around re-wilding, natural movement, nature connection and ancestral living practices. Thanks for joining me on this journey!
About today’s show:
Today I had the honour of speaking with Steve Aldridge….
Steve Aldridge is the founder of Wild Movement Perth.
For ten years he worked in the health and wellness industry learning all the reasons how and why our modern lifestyle does not naturally result in healthy humans.
This left him with one burning question. What makes a healthy human?
What started as a quest to learn about human health quickly led to the understanding that humans are dependent on and part of ecology and that all organisms are best off when fulfilling their role within the ecosystem.
His own journey into rewilding, difficulty finding mentors in Perth and no desire to be part of a purely online community of “rewilders” led him to create Wild Movement Perth.
Wild Movement Perth exists to create a culture of people in Perth around rewilding.
Steve helps groups and individuals to reconnect with what it means to be human and understand how we fit into the web of life through Natural Movement, Nature Connection & Earth Based Skills.
Basket weaving, edible weed workshops, fire by friction, green wood carving, overnight camps, educational wilderness walks and adventure days are some of the experiences he currently offers.
Situated in the Whadjuk region of Nyoongar Boodjar he lives with his wife and two

I’m in the process of creating this vision of place-based community centred in many of the practices that this podcast focuses on such as natural movement, hunting, re-wilding, community and traditional earth-based skills. I am going to be doing this mainly through running and facilitating immersive retreat experiences. If you feel you can help in any way, please feel free to reach out, this is a community project and I’m always happy to collaborate.
Thanks for tuning in, I'll catch you on the next episode!
