this week. As you know, we've been talking lots about how to network from home during a pandemic. When you can't go out and attend a trade show, we're schmoozes Starbucks. And today we're looking at length in LinkedIn is thesis social network for business nerds. Many people think of Lincoln is a place to have your resume on file toe. Look for jobs. Um, but there's more way more. As I found out, I interviewed a guy named David Cancel, whose CEO of Drift that is a suffer company for businesses. He told me that if you're not using, lengthen your crazy, let me give you his quote. It's morphed into the most important social network for business. If pressed for time, he told me he do Lincoln first, followed by Instagram, YouTube and then Twitter. Okay, so how do you master length in? Well, it's like all the other social networks Post post and post hashtag friend. You know that you know the drill. It's just another place to do it. David Cancel tells me you'll get a lot of response. Other people have told me this. Every person I interviewed this week actually has told me they've been getting mawr response from LinkedIn than any other social network. Start off by connecting to friends and people that you'd like to connect with. Don't go crazy, but, you know, start with the people you know and the people you'd like to know. The biggest tip I was given was hashtag start hash tagging your post Do search do searches for what people are looking for in hashtag your post Accordingly. I just did a pot. I just did a post about the talking tech podcast, for instance. Um, I find it amazing that my biggest audience every day is that 6 p.m. four a. M and one in the afternoon in that order. Does that make any sense? Anyway, I wrote I wrote about it in my hashtags were podcasting, podcasters, news, journalism, etcetera, and we'll see what happens. Plug, plug, plug David Cancel told me that it's better on linked in to have everybody commenting on one post as opposed to having people retweet yourself. In fact, I put a note post I put up today. Lengthen sent me a note and said mentioned people mentioned people in this post and get people talking because that's what they like. And the other thing is, a lot of people are doing what really? Well, Going live on length in three only snag is you have to apply for the right to go live on lengthen. And that could take a while for you to get a response. Either way, Hey, you're crazy for not using it. So give it a try. If you want to get response online and you wanna work your way up in network and schmooze and all those things, give it a try. What do you have to lose? It's free unless you want to get the premium version, which is really for people that are hard core job searchers. I'm Jefferson Graham. I'd love to hear from you. You know, you could find me on length in guys linkedin dot com slash i in slash Jefferson Graham, You can also find me on Twitter where I'm at Jefferson Graham. I'd love to hear from you.
