when movements do present riel alternatives that would make material improvements to people's lives like de funding police canceling debt or enacting a green New deal, they're often dismissed as idealistic nonsense and empty slogans. The cynical pragmatists and power are again essentially saying it's time to build, but only what I say we build. But there is nothing more practical about such pragmatism. It's only an insistence on their utopia for the few.
