Top Gun: Maverick - Movie Review After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy's top aviators, Pete "Maverick" Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When Maverick (Tom Cruise) is removed from his test pilot work he is assigned to teach at Top Gun for the purpose of training young pilots for a seemingly impossible mission. Along the way he must reconcile his relationship with the son of his late co-pilot Goose played by Miles Teller with the code name Rooster. The film also features Jennifer Connelly as Maverick's new love interest, and the return of Val Kilmer as Iceman, now one of Maverick's best friends.
