The beginning of the season of lent, repentance, and returning to the lord. The cross is marked on our foreheads to remind us that Christ defeated death for us.
The point of ashes in the bible is that you sit in ashes on the worst days of your life. You aren’t abandoned in these moments, and that’s something to celebrate.
A powerful way to prepare our hearts for Easter. We give to the poor, pay for repentance, and fast to fill that empty time for prayer and good habits.
The cross is our main focus during lent. The vertical line represents our friendship with Jesus while the horizontal line represents our relationship with each other.
It’s time to take lent seriously. Taking ashes without making a difference in your life is lying to God. Believing our sacrifice affects the world is motivating.
Forty days of spiritual grief to break the hold of sin on our lives. In the past, Christians gave the money they usually spend on luxury foods to the poor. Today, we engage in prayer, generous hospitality, and giving so we might grow in life for Christ and realign ourselves in his purposes.
Lent is a wonderful opportunity for growth and maturity. When you face mortality you get serious about how you’re living your life. We want this life to matter.
