CAESAR SAMAYOA claps away a big problem and so much more in Come From Away. The super talented actor, singer, dancer, Caesar Samayoa, is currently making people laugh, cry, and find their inner goodness, 8 shows a week, in the slow boiling hit new musical, Come From Away. Mr. Samayoa caught my attention in the musical Sister Act. I have been a bit of a fan, but clearly one who cannot read or speak, because I have been mispronouncing his name until this interview. I get schooled. I also get to laugh with someone who I hope will become one of my brunching Broadway Baby Daddies. Please laugh along and enjoy my conversation with Caesar Samayoa.

#504 - Come From Away (feat. Jane Bunting, Kevin Carolan, Joel Hatch, Caesar Samayoa) Come From Away is one of the best examples of ensemble storytelling to hit the Broadway stage this century. Having played more than 1,200 performances at the time Broadway shutdown, the show is a tour de force for a dozen onstage performers to guide audiences through a small town’s response to having a very big role on September 11th. After crisscrossing the country in a series of pre-Broadway tryouts, Come From Away opened at Broadway’s Schoenfeld Theatre on March 12, 2017. Since then the show has played London, Dublin, Melbourne and across both Canada and the United States. Today, we share a trio of stories from members of the show’s Broadway and touring productions. Being Out On Broadway Featuring Jenn Colella, Ariana DeBose, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Caesar Samayoa, And Tyler Hanes Live From Broadwaycon 2018, we bring you "Being Out on Broadway!" Each BroadwayCon, I ask some of my favorite LGBTQ guests to sit down for a live panel discussion about how it is to be OUT on Broadway. On this year's panel, we discussed everything from dating to politics to polyamory. to the state of union under Trump. I look forward all year to moderating this panel at BroadwayCon. The conversation is always lively and fun and this year was no exception. Enjoy!
Come From Away's Caesar Samayoa Full Disclosure, you guys, I’m OBSESSED with "Come From Away" And I’m equally obsessed with today’s guest, Caesar Samayoa. Caesar plays multiple roles in the show including Kevin, who is one half of a gay couple in which both men are named Kevin, and Ali, a Muslim chef, both of whom are stranded in Gandor, Newfoundland on September 11th 2001 during the true events that make up the plot of "Come From Away". Caesar’s performances in the show are spellbinding and I was thrilled to get to ask him all the questions about it. Caesar made his new York city debut in 1998’s long running off-Broadway production of "R & J". He made his Broadway debut in 2006 in "Hot Feet." He was also seen in on Broadway in "The Pee Wee Herman Show" and "Sister Act" before landing his roles in "Come From Away." I love this guy! Enjoy!
