MUST Know Legal Tips for Online Entrepreneurs w/ Jim Hart Do you have your legal systems in order? Is it the part of your business that you put off? I totally get it.  Today we’re diving into the legal side of running an online business, with lawyer and Accelerator member Jim Hart.  I asked him to join me because it’s been a while since we talked about anything legal here on the podcast. I know it can be boring, but it is SO important, and if there’s anyone who can teach us about the law without making it boring, it’s Jim.  Jim is the founder of Hawthorn Law. He is an Online Business Lawyer, Entrepreneur, YouTuber, and diehard Cleveland sports fan who has escaped the cold of Ohio to live under the Blue Skies of North Carolina.  Jim is a devoted husband and father of three young kids who loves to camp, hike, run, and make YouTube videos that help online entrepreneurs get their legal house in order so that they can focus on building amazing businesses. Jim is super approachable, super smart, and I’m so excited to sit down with him for this episode.  On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:  The biggest legal mistakes that online entrepreneurs are making Things that will attract the attention of the FTC How you should be setting up your business from a legal standpoint Two things that your website absolutely needs to have Where you should start when it comes to protecting yourself legally What you need to do to protect yourself when it comes to testimonials The difference between copyright and trademark When you might want to consider copyrighting something  What you can do when someone is pirating your course What the Lock It Down system is all about Trust me, getting the legal stuff sorted out is more than worth it. Not only will you be protected if anything were ever to happen, but you’ll also have peace of mind knowing that everything in your business is set up as it should be. Definitely take time to tune in to this special episode!  Have you taken the Business Blindspot Quiz? It’s 11 questions that are going to help you uncover the blind spots in your business. Once you’ve identified them, you will receive action steps for overcoming and fixing those blind spots so that you can regain momentum and traction to reach your goals. “Old School is the New School for Solo Marketing” w/ Jim Hart Today on the show we have Jim Hart, owner of the Hart Law Firm, a divorce practice based in North Carolina. In this episode we’ll discuss hiring “empty-bucket” vs. “full-bucket” employees, Jim’s experience with Atticus coaching, and struggling with delegating and growing. https://jameshartlaw.com/ Hacking’s Hack:I’m reading a book called “Scaling Up”, talking about growth he said that once you reach 5-6 employees you have to start delegating things you are not good at, but once you reach 10-15 you have to start delegating things you are good at. The thing that the entrepreneur is the best at becomes the weakness because the entrepreneur doesn’t want to let go. Tyson’s Tip:Take a 4-week vacation, disconnect from the business, and enjoy the vacation. It forces you to get your systems in place so that you can take this kind of vacation. Jim’s Tip:We all have CRM’s we use, something that I’ve done is I use Less Annoying CRM just for managing referral relationships, separate from the CRM I use for my potential clients. For more content from us please subscribe to our Youtube Channel Don’t forget to sign up for MaxLawCon20! Thanks so much for listening to the show! Ep040: Jim Hart Today, I'm talking with Jim Hart. Jim is in Arizona and has had quite a career in both the newspaper business and direct response marketing, as a consultant and now working with small and medium businesses to help counsel them on their marketing. We had a great conversation about the future of the newspaper business. We talked about how, despite the common narrative, there's still a lot of juice left to squeeze from the newspaper orange, and the unique opportunity Jim has with his skills as a direct response marketer, his knowledge of the newspaper business and his connections in the newspaper business, to bundle up his skills and create some really great opportunities for small businesses all over the country. We progressed into talking about the deeper idea of picking one business and really going deep in providing solutions for that one business that could be syndicated to all the other service providers in the same business. You'll see we started talking about dentists but the conversation narrow to end talking about chiropractors. This is a great demonstration of the focus you can get helping any kind of businesses, in the same way I have specific focus on being able to help real estate agents. We talked a lot about how this could apply to his situation. I think you'll really find this an interesting episode, developing the idea of a working, scaleable example.
