EP 21: Kara Kae James - Called to Thrive, Not Survive My guest for episode 21 is Kara Kae James. "A complete mess covered in grace", KK is a wife to Brook and mama to three girls and one newly adopted and adorable baby boy. She is the co-founder and Executive Director of Thrive Moms, an online ministry that provides daily encouragement and resources for moms everywhere.
Thrive Moms has been a life-changing resource for me as I've spent the last two years learning about what it means to be a mom. Like so many moms out there, I spent the early months in survival mode. I thought that if I could just get through each day, then that was enough. But being a mom is so much more than just trying to make it through the day or complaining about how hard it is.

Listen to today's episode, "Called to Thrive, Not Survive", and be encouraged that being a mom is not about surviving. It's about stepping boldly into what we've all been called to do. It's about celebrating and owning this glorious adventure.

149 || God Uses Hardship to Transform Your Heart || Kara-Kae James When your circumstances feel overwhelming, it is difficult to imagine the abundant life Jesus offers or even to believe that it is available to you. This very struggle inspired Kara-Kae James to launch Thrive Moms, a ministry to encourage overwhelmed moms to believe that Jesus has something more for them besides exhaustion and isolation. In pursuit of this dream, Jesus also transformed Kara-Kae’s heart. God works through our valleys, and if we’re not in a valley right now, I don’t know what else to call it. But He is at work, in the same way that He met Kara-Kae right where she was in the dark days of mothering tiny children and struggling with post-partum depression and anxiety. He’s always there; but sometimes we forget how to look for Him. Whatever your current circumstances, if you feel alone, overwhelmed, not knowing which way to turn next, I urge you to listen for the bold encouragement from the woman who told Kara-Kae, “You can find abundant life right where you are” and believe He is for you and will make it known to you as you seek Him with all of your heart. In addition, pay attention for the following wisdom in this episode: The reminder that whatever challenge you’re facing right now, pandemic-related or otherwise, allow the Lord carry you through it. That one way out of the fear of failure is to be authentic and show your true self. Take time to rest. Sabbath is so important for you and your dream. Don’t put it off, saying, “I’ll sabbath later” because later might never come. Establish the habit now. Ep 126: Feminism & Being a Strong Woman with Kara-Kae James Feminism has kind of been a dirty word in our society. I know a lot of us have been misinformed or hurt by this word or some of the ideology behind this word, but I have learned so much over the past few years about feminism and about God’s heart and purpose for women. And I have wanted to talk about this for many months now, but it’s such a big and careful conversation to have. So, I asked my friend and author, Kara-Kae James to join me in a discussion about feminism, what it is, and the stigma surrounding this word. I can’t wait for you to hear it! Let’s dive in! Everything we talk about in this episode can be found HERE: alliecasazza.com/shownotes/126
AMP S7E96: Enneagram 1s and Adoption - Kara-Kae James We 1s are an interesting bunch. I feel like we get labeled as a lot less fun than we actually are. Most of the 1s I know, including myself, are social, reasonable, funny, and charismatic, but how do we balance the desire to be all of those things with our other desire to be good, just, and righteous?Kara-Kae James and I are chatting all about it this week. We are also of course talking about how our 1-ness influenced our adoption processes and how it impacts our lives now as adoptive moms...https://theadoptivemompodcast.com/blog/karakaejames2
