Romans 12:2 (AMP) And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

Questions and Topics We Discuss:

How can we experience the abundant life here and now?

How does meditating on Scripture help rewire our brains?

Romans 3:24 “and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

Romans 3:25 (a) “God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.”

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:11 “Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.”

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Ephesians 1:15–23 “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”

Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“

Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the bloo

Dr Ken Baugh Interview: Project Pastor Ken knows the stress overload of pastoring from the inside. After hitting a wall as the Senior Pastor of a large church, he went through a painful exit and sought counseling and spiritual direction. His season of personal healing, reconciliation, and learning opened up a new intimacy with Jesus for him and propelled him into a ministry of helping pastors and leaders resolve their spiritual/emotional conflicts. Today he brings 25 years of pastoral ministry to his role as the Pastor to the Campus Pastors at Saddleback Church, along with helping leaders from other churches and in business. He has a doctorate in Discipleship from Talbot Theological Seminary and a certificate from Soul Shepherding in “Spiritual Formation and Soul Care Ministry.” Ken’s unique discipleship ministry is based on a holistic biblical theology, infused with findings from psychology and neurology.

Brain Science AND Belief with Dr. Ken Baugh Ever thought the devil made you do it? Why do you do what you do and how does faith fit into it?Don’t tell anybody, but I’ve gotten addicted to binge-watching a series on Netflix. No, really, don’t tell anyone because the language is way too graphic, and the sex on the screen won’t pass any Sunday School test, but the storyline and imagination is simply overwhelmingly compelling. The series is called Outlander, and it forces one to contemplate the cultural, medical, and spiritual dynamics in the mid 20th century compared to the mid 18th century. How would you handle life if you woke up tomorrow 200 years back in time? Imagine the differences, beginning with no lights to turn on, much less, thermostats to adjust, or prescriptions to take.So why do we just keep that line of thought going for a minute? In the Christian world, it wasn’t long ago Catholics believed all Protestants were heretics, and Protestants all thought The Pope was the Anti-Christ. Psychology as a specific field of study was not even born as myths and superstitions abounded in the areas we might call brain science today. You are doing something crazy? What are we supposed to conclude if we don’t know about brain tumors, chemical imbalances, and personality disorders?Rushing forward to today, do you wonder why you are struggling with faith and relationship issues in a way that seems unique? Do you question the prescriptions which are supposed to take the edge off of your anxiety or depression, still finding yourself unsatisfied? Does trust in God seem to elude you, making you long for the faith you see in others?Let’s ask someone who has pondered these things for most of a lifetime.Founder and CEO of IDT Ministries (Institute for Discipleship Training) and former pastor of Coast Hills Church in Aliso Viejo, welcome Dr. Ken Baugh to Church, Hurts And.If you enjoyed listening to this radio show/podcast and would like to support the ongoing efforts of this ministry, you can do so by visiting https://www.standingstoneministry.org... or https://www.churchhurtsand.orgFor more about Ken Baugh:  https://idtministries.com

Unhindered Abundance (Alan with Ken Baugh) I want to read some familiar words from the scriptures that I think have special relevance to the situation in which we find ourselves these day. Jesus is speaking, and says, “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, [they] will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” I really appreciate that last line. The life Jesus has come to announce to us and make available to us is meant to be abundance. But we’re living in a season that has called into question so many of the ways we had been measuring “the good life.” Today, I’m talking with Ken Baugh about his new book, Unhindered Abundance. I think you’ll find help for how to enter more deeply into the very good life to which you’ve been invited. Learn from and connect with Ken on social:Instagram @ken.baughFacebook @pastorkenbaughTwitter @PastorKenBaugh
