Ep. 121: Victoria Mininger – Checking In With Yourself During Your Dream Chase Victoria Mininger is the founder of Fearless Woman Entrepreneur, through which she mentors women entrepreneurs to thrive, not just survive, in both business and life. She is also the founder and CEO of Bear Creek Enterprises, where she actively works alongside her husband, Brian, to provide employment opportunities and a positive work environment within the construction industry. From years spent building and running various businesses, to her time spent as a staff writer for a large university, she has honed her skills in the trenches of business and the creative world of writing. Victoria lives in central Virginia with her husband and four daughters. In her downtime, she loves to run, spend time in the outdoors, and travel. When Opportunity Comes Knocking . . .Are you ready to “do something different”? Victoria came to that point when a new opportunity came knocking for her in June of 2016. With her husband’s construction background, they joined forces and created their own construction company. Recently, they’ve ridden the “tiny house” wave to cater to the “entrepreneur on the go” by building and selling studio office spaces!TWEET: Where we start off in life is not usually where we end up. @vminingerA Role Model—for Failure??Do you let your children see your successes AND your failures? Victoria believes that honesty and openness, even when failure comes, are important for our children to see. She shares how she and Brian were candid with their children when their business sputtered and failed. We all know that failure is a part of life and a stair-step to success, so why not allow our kids to see how we handle it and move forward?TWEET: #Failure is a part of life and a stair-step to #success, @vminingerFinding Ways to Give BackHow do you prioritize your self-care? We’ve all heard it said that we can’t take care of those we love unless we are taking care of ourselves. This is true! Victoria loves helping others through Fearless Woman Entrepreneur and finds it rewarding to give back. Many people experience the hopelessness that comes from that place of struggle, but she wants to create a safe space for women entrepreneurs, teaching them to care for themselves first!TWEET: We can’t take care of those we #love unless we are taking #care of ourselves. @vmininger #selfcareGuest Recommendation: ONE action for a dream chaser to take—“Take everything on your plate and ask if it’s still supposed to be there. 060: Building Your People | Victoria Mininger | Bear Creek Outdoor Living A construction company that's focused on building their people? Well, here's your inspiration For the Love of Team. Welcome to season two of the podcast. And this is Episode 60 of the newly renamed For Love of Team podcast. This is part two of my conversation with Victoria Mininger. We recorded this a few months ago, and I saved it to be closer to the launch of her new book Daring to Fight. Make sure you catch the last podcast episode for more on the book and her story. And check out her links below, especially the book trailer. And as we recorded that show, we also talked about her business journey as the CEO of Bear Creek Outdoor Living (www.bearcreek.co) in the mountains of Virginia. Bear Creek has grown from just a mere idea into a recognized community leader by their Chamber of Commerce in just a few years. Listen in to hear:The ONE thing that actually drives passion in businessThe exact steps Victoria used to start building her teamWhy hiring for aptitude is critical for team successHow to succeed being a servant leader in a boss-driven worldA unique way Bear Creek developed training to support all the employees The building blocks of workplace cultureAnd so much more. This story is tangible proof that loving your team multiplies your results. I've experienced this multiplication in my own leadership career. Loving your products or clients more than your people limits your potential. Hearing Victoria's words in this podcast was ultimately the inspiration for the change for the podcast. With a renewed focus on the power of teamwork, both in my business and with my conversations with you here on the podcast. Links from the ShowBear Creek Outdoor Living (company website) Daring to Fight: When Grit, Grace and Determination Take Depression Head On (Amazon)Daring to Fight book trailer (YouTube)VictoriaMininger. com (speaker website)For Love of Team Foundational RetreatsAre you hitting the wall of complexity in your business? 368: When Grit, Grace, and Faith Take Depression Head-On with Victoria Mininger For the second week in a row, I have the chance to interview someone I might never have met were it not for a mutual friend. That friend’s name is Dan Miller.

A few weeks ago, Dan was kind enough to suggest I consider chatting with Victoria Mininger about her new (as of January) book. Victoria’s book covers a topic that I don’t know has ever been explored on the podcast.

That book is Daring to Fight: When Grit, Grace, and Faith Take Depression Head-On. I was particularly interested in Victoria’s battle with depression as it relates to her work as an entrepreneur, former pastor’s wife, and as a mother.

In her new book, she candidly shares her depression battle and lays out the steps she took – steps you can take – to fight it every day. It’s essentially an eight-week guidebook.

S3E37: How To Keep Moving Through Our Darkest Seasons With Victoria Mininger In this week's episode I get to interview a sweet friend of mine, Victoria.

We talk about something that is not easy to talk about, depression.

Just like me, Victoria has walked through her own depression journey and today's she is sharing with us what it looked like and how she was able to keep putting on foot in front of the other in order to keep moving forward and find healing.

Victoria is a wife, married to her best friend Brian for the last 23 years. Together they have four daughters.

Victoria is also the Founder of Bear Creek Enterprises - a Construction Company in Central VA that specializes in building and creating outdoor living spaces. Victoria is also an Owner and the CFO of Bear Creek Building Supply, an affiliate business to her construction company.

Together with her husband, and a team of craftsman, they run their companies together with a heart to employ people through meaningful work and a life-changing environment.

In the day to day Victoria heads up Team Development for both companies, whose mission it is to build its people and a company culture that cares for it's people well.

As Victoria often says "We Build Stuff, But More Importantly We Strive to Build People."

I know that you are going to get a lot out of this week's episode, so without any further ado, let's listen to my interview with Victoria.

059 BA: Daring to Fight with Victoria Mininger As our final episode of Season One of the Begin Again Leadership podcast, we've saved our BEST begin again story for last. A second chance. Three of the most beautiful, hopeful words ever spoken. Victoria Mininger never set out to write a book, much less a book about depression. In fact, she didn’t really even aspire to be an author. Yet, after a season when overwhelm turned to darkness, Victoria dared to fight. Her second chance not only helped herself, it's now helping thousands. Writing is hard work. A book always seemed like a daunting task. And it is. And yet, when the need outweighs the excuses, somehow a book is what you get.And WHAT a book! Daring to Fight: When Grit, Grace & Faith Take Depression Head-On is now available on Victoria's website and soon on Amazon. I LOVE this book so much that I've already given away copies to friends who need a word of inspiration during a very challenging time. Victoria is a wife, mom of four, Owner, CEO and Integrator of Bear Creek Outdoor Living ( a Residential Construction Firm), Writer, Author, Speaker, hands in the dirt gardner & farm girl. And a great friend from a faith and business Mastermind we've been part of for several years. I know you are going to enjoy part 1 of our time with Victoria. --Winston***So, let's draw deeper faith, inspiration and encouragement in our Begin Again moments.
