S2:15 The One About Progression With Munira Hudani When dealing with a Diastasis Recti, making progress can be challenging. How do we know when to move forward in our workouts or perhaps step back and return to the basics? If someone is stuck in fear of making a progression forward, what signs can they watch for in their bodies to know how to proceed? What about people who are way ahead, doing challenging things that may not be wise for their abdominals? We discuss the principles of progression with Diastasis in depth in this episode with physical therapist Munira Hudani who obtained her Masters of Science in Physical Rehabilitation from the University of Toronto in 2009. In her nearly ten years of experience as a clinician, she has devoted the bulk of her career to Women’s Health. Munira was the Director of the Pelvic Health Program at Bosnar Centre for Health in Toronto, Canada where most of her caseload was dedicated to helping women with Diastasis Rectus Abdominis (DRA). In addition to presenting novel concepts on DRA at physiotherapy conferences, she has presented to local obstetricians, gynecologists as well as family physicians regarding the necessity of pelvic floor and core assessments in the post-natal population. She also teaches courses on diastasis rectus abdominis (DRA) to rehab and fitness professionals and provides clinical mentorship to other physiotherapists seeking to further their skills. She is passionately committed to spreading DRA awareness to both professionals and patients by providing information that is up-to-date, evidence-based, and reliable. The acronym PLP-CC-DEF which she provides and explains in this episode will be very valuable to people wanting to learn about proper progression for their core muscles.
