Medical Dry Skin Conditions with Caylynn Jagga, Dermal Clinician at Skinfluence Clinic Dry skin is a common health condition. It occurs when the skin lacks the oils and moisture it requires to stay healthy. Dry skin can be uncomfortable, itchy, red, and scaly. It can be a result of environmental variables such as chilly temperatures or dry air. It might also be brought on by medical diseases like diabetes, dehydration, and eczema.
Although dry skin is usually temporary, there are types of dry skin that could last year-round.
In this week's podcast episode, Marni will speak with Caylynn Jagga Dermal Clinician, at Skinfluence Clinic, about various medical dry skin conditions.
Caylynn is a Dermal Clinician, with a degree in Bachelor in Dermal Science and post-graduate studies in Skin Cancer. For the past 3 years, she has been on the board of the ASDC (a peak body for Dermal Clinicians and industry alike). Chapped Lips 101 with Dr Julia Rhodes Because lips don't have any oil glands, their skin is thinner and more delicate than the skin on the rest of the body. They run the danger of getting dry and chapped as a result. Lips are more exposed to the elements than the rest of the body and can develop chapped skin through exposure to the sun, dry air, or extreme cold.
Many of us encounter chapped lips in the winter, which are inflamed, dry, and peeling lips brought on by disruption of the outer skin layer.
Cheilitis, the medical term for chapped lips, can result from exposure to an allergen or a medical condition.
In this week's podcast episode, Marni will be speaking with Dr Julia Rhodes, award-winning Melbourne-based dermatologist and the founder of Spotlight on Skin.
She is passionate about demystifying the confusing world of skincare by providing evidence-based, unbiased information so that you can make informed decisions when it comes to your skin.
Tune in to this episode as Dr Julia talks about chapped lips and more!

Faces of Dry Skin Conditions: Real Life Stories from Stephanie, Farah, Carly and Georgia There has been a stigma attached to skin conditions for centuries.
Those who have skin conditions have not only to cope with the effects of their diagnosis but also the reaction of others to their condition.
In this week's podcast episode, we will be talking about not just one, but three different dry skin conditions that affect millions of people's lives.
Stephanie Shepherd of Cyapsoriasis: Stephanie is living with psoriasis for 14 years now. She runs an Instagram and a YouTube channel which both raise psoriasis awareness, through sharing her story and other people's too. She strongly believes in natural healing, through diet and lifestyle changes, because that’s when she had seen the best results for her skin.
Farah Khaleck is a motivational speaker and scleroderma ambassador. Farah was just 17 years old when she began experiencing symptoms and early signs of scleroderma. Since then, she has braved her situation to advocate and voice herself as a strong and empowered woman. Farah sees scleroderma as another challenge and has managed to live with it to her advantage.
Carly Findlay OAM is an award-winning writer, speaker and appearance activist living with Ichthyosis. She works part-time at Melbourne Fringe as their Access and Inclusion Coordinator. She writes on disability issues for publications including ABC, Daily Life and SBS . Carly has written her first book – a memoir called Say Hello, and is editing Growing Up Disabled in Australia.
Georgia Harris of Meadows on my Skin is a 25-year-old aspiring actor from Yorkshire. She frequently posts raw, intimate and vulnerable posts about life with Psoriasis and how to handle the mental health struggles that may come alongside it.
Don't miss this episode as Stephanie, Farah, Carly and Georgia talk about living life with their dry skin condition and more.

He completed his medical degree at The University of Melbourne, where he graduated with Honours.
