Convention Report: Otakon 2022! We are back this week so give you a special in-person episode of the OHC podcast. We are tired and assimilating back into normal daily routines was especially hard this time around because all of us were so so busy at con. We're re-counting our experiences day by day and touching on things we did and some con drama! Sunday was especially amazing because it was panel day! So if you are just joining us from our panel on Sunday, thank you so so much for taking the time to check us out, we hope you had a blast at our panel and welcome to our little anime community!
The next few episode were pre-recorded before Otakon because Dan is taking a month off to travel around southeast asia so we'll get back to business in September. If you have joined the Patreon or our discord your shout outs are coming we promise!

Studio Trigger Spotlight: Promare and Space Patrol Luluco This week we bring you a Studio Trigger Spotlight! It is their 10-year anniversary this year and they've got a bunch of stuff going on at conventions around the country, project announcements, and live drawings, so we thought we'd also celebrate here on OHC! And of course, it gives Dan an excuse to gush about how much he loves Trigger. So we thought we'd compare and contrast some of Trigger's high-octane action shows like Promare and Kill la Kill to some of their softer-moe shows like Space Patrol Luluco and Little Witch Academia. Check out our bonus episode Amelia's Anime Hour: Anime Expo Report if you want to hear everything that went down at Anime Expo!

89. NANA: "A Love Polygon?” Do opposites really attrack? This "paradox" is tested when two women named Nana meet serendipitously on a train to Tokyo. One is an anti-social punk rocker, the other a straight-laced normie, but they become inseparable. In comes a large cast of characters that complicate their friendship! If you are a regular listener of the show, you'll already know we are huge fans of this 06' Shojo classic and it's easy to see why. Join us this week as we discuss the drama and love story that is NANA.

88. Convention Report: A-Kon 2022 We're finally back from A-Kon!! lol Just Kidding! So we made our middle-school-meet-your-online-friends-in-real-life dream come true by flying out to Dallas, Texas to hang out with a bunch of friends, listeners of the show, fellow podcasters, and new people that we met along the way. And of course, Kristella is on this episode since not only was this her first A-Kon but also her first convention! So sit back, relax and let us take you on our journey through the oldest convention in the country.
87. Kotaro Lives Alone: Is He "Old Enough"? This is the episode right before A-Kon, like—right now as you're listening, we're all scrambling to tweak our presentation! So there is a bunch of info about our panel dates and times at the beginning of the episode. Then we get into a full spoiler review of Kotaro Lives Alone and reference the Netflix companion series Old Enough! *Netflix put the exclamation there, not us... If you haven't watched Kotaro, this is your sign to go watch it and let us know what place it took in anime of the year rankings for you! This series flew right under the radar for most people but we snatched it up and will never let it live alone again, and that's a promise!

86. 50 Years of Anime Theme Songs! We love anime theme music over here at OHC, so we had to bring you our newest panel idea, 50 Years of Anime Theme Music. We're covering anime OPs throughout history and the popular music of that era to compare just how iconic anime theme music is to popular culture, as well as its relevance in finding its way into a full-fledged medium; eventually making a name for itself in the Japanese music industry. We also will have the survey results we published for listeners of what anime theme songs we thought would best represent that decade and we'll share the results with you at the end of the episode!

85. The Evolution of Anime Fandom: From VHS to VTuber! Join us in this test run for one of our panel idea: the evolution of the anime fan. In the beginning there was only mail order VHS that you brought to your local sci-fi convention in hopes of finding that one other kindred anime lover spirit. Now we have a booming anime convention circuit, anime youtubers, podcasters, cosplayers and even VTUBERS!!! Literally we are becoming 2-d anime waifus! So lets take a look at how the fandom has evolved into this mecha-almost-mainstream-blossoming-community-of-otakus. From VHS to Vtubers!
Don't forget to take our anime music survey!!! https://forms.gle/UigGKHBeSVcJVife9

84. Bubble: Full Review After months of anticipation, we finally get what on paper would seem like the makings of a classic hit. But what we got instead was far from perfect, even with Gen Urobuchi and Tetsuro Araki at the helm. This Netflix original from Studio Wit promised to deliver but did we think it did? Join us for a full review of Bubble! - https://linktr.ee/Otakuhostclub
