Paul Peters made his first radio broadcast, on Radio Essex, at the age of 16 in November 1965, using the name Paul Freeman. Paul Peters made his first radio broadcast, on Radio Essex, at the age of 16 in November 1965, using the name Paul Freeman. This offshore pirate radio station broadcast from an old WW2 Naval Fort called Knock John, which stands in the middle of the Thames estuary. In the 70's he presented shows for the BBC in the south of England. He then went to work as an appeals director for a large U.K. charity, and he thought that his broadcasting days had come to an end. But in 2006 he got a call, right out of the blue, from the BBC asking him if he'd like to tell his story on BBC Radio 4. He did,
and that's what brought him back to the radio microphone.
The Swinging 60's Show 'airs' weekly on Forest FM in the U.K.
and on several stations in the U.S.A., New Zealand, Malta,
and Hungary. You too, can now listen to the show at anytime via
the Radio TV & Audio Collection, here at the Internet Archive.
